Water safety is very important to remember and know. Remember to respect the bigger boat and get outta the way. OH Buoy

I live on Buckeye Lake and am wondering where you learned your water safety? Size doesn't determine the right of way.

If you have too big of a boat to control, then dont go boating, fishing boats are usually going really slow or sitting still.

Hard to control your boat when someone comes straight at you, not paying attention becuase they are too busy talking to the passenger and possibly intoxicated. And no the fishing boat was not going slow or sitting still either.

Let me guess, you have a pontoon, since everyone on buckeye lake assumes if you are driving a pontoon, you always have the right of way? Larger vessels ALWAYS have the right of way!

We appreciate the last 2 comments, as you will come to find out, Justin had no alcohol in his system what so ever. And you are correct, Brian has had some conflicting stories to the media. BTW, for everyone they were not ran over by the boats prop, it occured when Justin turned around to come back and get them out of the water, instead of being pulled over the side by the boys onto the donzi, the lady chose to swim around to the back and yes, the motor was still running.

HA! lay down the crack pipe. never seen so many people with no clue how to run a boat than i have on buckeye. this would be why the state now requires a boaters course to operate one if you were born in 1982 or later (though nobody seems to follow that law either)

The young guys tried to get out of the way of the bass boat but he ran right into them. They pulled them in their boat to keep them from getting hit by their own boat after they hit them. The young dudes boat had a big hole in its side and sank.So how can the drunk guy say they hit him?If thats the case their boat would have sunk.

I think all of them are very lucky about coming out of this alive. Yes Brian might have his stories mixed up some but wouldn't you if you had gone through the same thing? Really can we stop judging all the people involve and be thankful that no one was seriously injuried.

Have you ever been through a traumatic event? I have! You tell your side of what happened, and later after the adrenaline calms down and you have time to think over what happened, you realize things you had forgotten earlier. That's why the authorities allow you to make subsequent statements. I've been through an auto accident, in shock, injured and and my life changed in a matter of seconds. Was I able to tell the police every single detail in order? No way. But I told what I could remember at the moment. Didn't mean I was changing my story, but if you've never been in shock then who are you to judge?

We usually boat elsewhere, but Sunday we went to Buckeye Lake and the boaters out there are dangerous. We were anchored off to the side of the lake not too far from a no-wake buoy. There were idiots out there zigzagging around out boat with kids on tubes. They kept coming real close to our boat. People out there have no respect for other boaters. There was plenty of room on the other side of us and clear across the lake. This boater also after going by us then took the kids up on the outside of another boat and cut in front of it with no awareness that there was a Sea-Doo that was coming up the other side of the boat and almost hit the tube with the kids on it. There were also a couple other boats that were in that same line that he cut off. We saw no patrol out there at all.
