It sounds to me like the girl put herself in a bad situation. How did she end up at his home? Why would a young girl wink at a 60 yr old professor??? What exactly did he do to make her fear for her life? From the article, it looks like she got flirty and then didn't like it when he reciprocated.

This girl is clearly crazy. There is nothing abnormal about a professor lending a calculator for a test. There is nothing wrong with him asking to get it back. She accepted all his gifts, went to his house on her own accord, but was "scared for her life". Women know they can get away with this type of behavior and the university should be ashamed that they called it "sexual harassment" based on solely what she told them, not based on the facts.

She does sound like a nut job. I knew this prof and yes, he was a single man looking for a gal. But if you didn't lead him on, he did not pursue it. "Afraid for her life" I don't believe her for a minute.

Some girls need to learn to not let their own mental illness ruin a man's life. If she's so afraid of everything, maybe she should not ever leave the house. I'm sure men everywhere would feel much safer that way.

The girl took a $600 ring, candles, a lamp, then she borrowed a calculator. She then agreed to an arranged meeting to privately return the calculator and then freely went to the mans' residence.....this story is about as hot as a goats butt in a pepper patch!

There's nothing described in this story which is actual harassment, but perhaps some details were left out that would change my mind about this issue. However, the professor should have know better than to the gifts given his authority position in the relationship. And perhaps his providing the calculator may have been against school policy; even so, why didn't he get it back right after the girl finished her exam? It does seem that her fears are exaggerated.

She's experiencing post-traumatic-stress syndrome because 'they did it.' And, she's angry because she found out that the ring only costs $600.

She left without giving him his calculator back. He called her to arrange to meet to pick it back up.

This professor is an amazing instructor and I am very sad to see him mixed up in this.

So, did she report him AFTER she passed his class with a good grade? Why did she accept the ring? Why did she accept the gifts? Why did she not put a stop to it from day one? Did she report him because she did not get a good grade?
He was in the WRONG! Regardless of whether or not she came on to him or not, he is the teacher / the adult or the person in charge - he should have NEVER made any advances.
I'm sorry, but TOO often girls in school / college flirt with their teachers & are done with them when they are done with the class - they got a good grade. & TOO often teachers act inappropriately.
As a rule of thumb: IF YOU CAN'T SHARE THINGS WITH CO-WORKERS OR FAMILY DO NOT DO IT!!!

Why didn't SHE return it when she was done?

I also knew Regis and he is a good, honest man. He wouldn't do anything like this. I don't believe that she was "afraid for her life", if anything maybe afraid of what her parents would say about her new relationship! And by the way, how did she get to Thornville? Because Regis wouldn't have taken her there, especially without her permission!!! Ohio University-Lancaster has now lost an EXCELLENT professor!!!!!

Why Would She Ever Go To his House?????
Just Plain Stupid I guess!!!
Wouldn't You just hand the calculator back after the Exam?
Come on, there is more to this story than is being told!

Everyone is assuming that the woman is young and it is an older man preying on a young girl. How old was this female student? Not enough details here. A female friend of mine is in her 30's and she hangs out with a guy in his mid 50's. She is not much to look at but then he is not pushing women away either. Sometimes age doesn't matter.

Noroski is a creeper and a jerk. I've known him to parade around campus with his shirt off and I know that he spit in the face of a woman in her 40s that he was angry with over a dispute at the university.

I'm not sure the legitimacy of the girl's claim, and I agree maybe she could have said "No" when asked if she wanted ice cream, but more importantly - Why the heck didn't she just FOLLOW HIM IN HER OWN CAR??

Let me make sure I have this correct. She went to his house and he is accused of harasment. Maybe all he really wanted was his calculator back, but her math just does'nt add up!
