So sad, so sad. Such a young life taken before she had a real chance at life. I feel for her family.

Life is short and this underlines it. We do not know the day nor the hour of when we too shall leave this earthly abode. Do you know where you will spend eternity? Have you make plans for your journey?

Where you are sitting ask Jesus to come into your heart and confess your sins and He is willing and able to forgive them and grant you eternal life with Him when your times comes to die.

Do not wait another day. Eternity is just a breath away. Peace be with you.

It was a terrible scene. We were among those lucky enough to just be stuck in the 4 mile + back up behind the accident. Many blessings to her family and friends who not only had to lose such a young blossom, but many had to witness it as well.

My husband and I drove upon this horrific accident yesterday just before the police and ambulance arrived. We were traveling southbound on 65. First, we noticed several people running across the highway on the northbound side. Then we noticed several cars pulled over on each side. A moment later, we saw the SUV in the median. The images are still haunting; a woman was screaming out. I cried the rest of the way home and again later. Thoughts and prayers to the families. God bless you.

My prayers to the family of that little girl. I was one of the first cars to come upon this accident immediately after it happened. We tried to help stabilize the girl but the father wouldnt let her go. I dont blame him at all. Im glad to find out the other two ladies are alive. I wasnt sure when I arrived. Life is precious. Never take it for granted. This scene will forever be burned into my mind. Im glad to have my life, i just wish it didnt take something like that to make me so grateful to be alive.

I am sorry you were witness to such an awful event. Even from the outskirts we knew it was bad. Really makes you thankful for those around you. Blessings to you as well to help you get the images out of your head.:(

Accidents are horrable. The writer of this article focused on the use of SUV's , some not involved in the accident . Seems to be a blatant attempt to cast a bad image of SUV use. I know he used the exact car make of the other vehicle involved, but I was left with more of an image of SUV use, than of the tragic death of a young girl. As if the use of these vehicles by this extended family , was the cause of their misfortune.

Yes it's sad. My husband was in traffic for about 4 hours on I65 Northbound last night. I knew it had to be a bad accident but was hoping no fatalities.

Deepest sympathies to all families involved. Very tragic.

I didn't really notice blame being given to SUV drivers but statistically they are more negligent, careless and take more chances than other vehicles on the road. There was a study just released on this and I'm sure insurance statistics support that as well.

It's unfortunate in any case but in general people in SUVs do need to show down and be as cautious as drivers in a small car but they generally feel since their vehicle is larger they have more protection or muscle? Not sure.

I was also caught in the traffic on 65 last night. I live in Boone county and I know just how many accidents happen along that stretch of road. The barriers have helped something more needs to be done. I think a lower speed limit through the Lebanon and Thorntown area would help. Of course, then we'd need police out there to enforce it. I know that I would have no problem driving slower for a few miles if it would save lives. I feel so horrible for this family. Last night we were on our way home from a weekend trip with my own teenager.

A terrible and needless accident which I believe could have possibly been prevented.
Many unanswered questions from both vehicles.
Some relating to concentration, and awareness.
Very Sad.

I just heard of the accident this morning because I personally know the driver of the BMW. He is a very good guy and devasted by the accident. My prayers go out to ALL involved, accidents occure and they are beyond our control. We must look to Our Heavenly Father for comfort in this most horrible time

Is there a higher than normal number of accidents on this stretch of highway? I would like to see someone do a study. Maybe they could put a marker at each location of a death in the past 3 years. I bet it would be an eye opener.
