Have any Current Harvey Citizen's EVER complained to the State Police or News?

After 2 years of trying to prompt current Harvey Citizens to organize and form watch organizations, planning committees, budget proposals, TIF financing ideas, church involvement, school involvement etc.....
Has ANYONE contacted the Chicago Tribune, or the State police or any state agencies? I'd like to hear what they actually said. Please let me think there's "hope" that Somebody is trying to tell the state about corruption, gangs, violence and lack of services in town.

I belive it is a known fact what goes mon in harvey.I work in university park and the guys from my job are from all over chi,indiana ect,mostly all of them know what harvey is all about .STRIP CLUBS, DRUGS,AND ACOHOL. THAT IS ALL HARVEY PROMOTES, TROUBLE COMES FROM ALL OVER TO CATCH THE HUDDLE LIQUOR STORE BEFORE IT CLOSES AT 400AM. OR TO HIT "THE FAMOUS ARNIES IDLE HOUR STRIP CLUB" OR TO GET A BAG OF WEED OR DOPE FROM EVERY OTHER BLOCK IT IS A KNOWN FACT!!!!

Ex-Harvey you know the answer, nope. I think they are going to wait until the next election then hope someone comes in and beat him. But for know Harvey will continue to head in the wrong direction. The mayor and those who kiss his butt will continue to reep the benifit of being aligned with him until he is either arrested by the Govt. or loses the next election. The first 4 yrs no improvment at all with crime in fact it got worse. No real respectable business coming in town only your normal food joints, old folk homes and other jive business that won't bring that big comsumer business Harvey needs. If this dude was smart he would do everything to make Harvey respectable again. Start with crime by cleaning up the streets the old school way. Get good officers and command who do what is right and not what the mayor wants. If Harvey was a clean town they would be able to attract the big business it deserves and over time would create jobs and bring property value up. But, the way I see it and knowing the way these fools operate you won't see any productivity at all in Harvey in the near future.

Where do you start to make things better.
I just need to make a move. I want to be around other people that care about the upkeep of there streets. They care about the schools system. They care about higher education, not just dropping out and getting a GED! They care about others. I know it's out there because I have seen it. When I travel and spend time in other areas while taking my kids to school.

I believe the citizens of Harvey...feel its a moot point! Just like someone wrote, they will let their voices be heard in the next election...to vote him out. However, I doubt he will have any eligible contenders! The last running mates were absolute rift/raft! The Aldermans...are rift/raft with the exception of Darryl Crudup.

It will be hard to clean-up Harvey and hire good police officers due to the disturbingly low pay they receive. I think someone told me starting officers don't even make $30K. Not to mention Pheonix, and Dixmoor is lower than that.

That's true the cops make crap. That's why they get all they can from the pockets of other crumbs. This town has been in hell since Johnson left office. With so many years in this hell I doubt if Harvey can come out on top. There are still very good parts of Harvey where people take care of there homes and block but the areas that look bad need makeovers not only in appeareance but the element of people they produce. These are the areas where Kellogg makes his loot. Anyone who remembers him as a councilman knows how radical he was and it only carried over to his tenure as mayor. What a waste because with his background and education he could have ran for congress if he could have done the right thing and brought Harvey out of the grave in every area. Oh well just another loser in the Harvey Mayor Hall of Shame starting with Johnson then Graves/Barton, ending with Kellogg. This is well over 20 years which is way too long for the living to be in Hell.

When Eric Kellogg was elected the first time I was the one who originally wrote that the entire city was now packed with this family and friends. The police department is so corrupt that it makes no sense in calling them.Has anyone ever been in city hall during business hours and seen Eric Kellogg? The Park District is corrupt, City Hall is corrupt and there is no way that the State of Illinois, The Illinois Attorney General, The Illinois State Police, The FBI or any other orginazation don't know what is going on in Harvey, There are a lot of hard working decent people living in Harvey trying to make their property better attempting to clean up the area but try calling the police department when you have a problem and you will see the wall that the people of Harvey are going through. Yes I have called all the above mentioned locations except the FBI but have NEVER heard anything back from any of them. So when I hear Lisa Madigan talking I know it is all a game. I have attempted to contact Senator Meeks more times than you will ever know this is a man who never bothers to return calls. Congressman Jackson knows what is going on here in Harvey as well none of these people have done anything to help. So where and who are the people of Harvey suppose to turn to?

The people of Harvey have to turn to themselves to make a dent in Harvey politics. None of those listed above will lift a finger to help unless it benifits them. I guess you all are getting tired of Kelloggs crap. You all had your chance to get his sorry butt out of office but gave him another term. Marion Beck would have been a good fit for Harvey but everyone was caught up in the fake glitter of a master con-man. The way I see it the only way to rid Harvey of Kellogg is to charge him with a crime which we all know he has committed but it will have to come from the feds. Remember Luster from Dixmoor? The next time citizens get a chance to voice themselves via the media, use it to your advantage. If this was Homewood the mayor would have been gone. If orginized right the people of Harvey could be a force to deal with when it comes to Harvey Govt. and the way things are done, afterall they work for you right. If you want it, fight for it cause nobody gonna give it to ya.

Bring back Mayor Grave's. The city was heading forward when he was the Mayor. The Police Protection was there and the dope dealers were on the run. What I can not understand is why the people voted him in for another 4 years???????
