Dolton what happened to hiring part time police officers? What they did not have the qualifications? Funny!
They did hire some new part-time officers. However, they do need far more...but who's going to pay for that? Dolton, is in the red. |
If they had the BARS pay for all the over time the police office spend on them. We could pay for more offices. If they got rid of Fox, Robert Shaw. Shawn Howard and all the cars that are driven off duty we save a LOT of money. The other day the new mayor was at a local bar in the car that belongs to the village. Now let's see if there is a accident after a few drinks HOW MUCH WILL IT COST THE VILLAGE? BUT SEE THEY DON"T CARE OR THERE SO STUPID!!!!!AND WE ARE FALLING FOR CHANGE IN DOLTON> MAYOR SHAW DID IT TO. SO I GUESS IT MUST BE OK ! NOT, NOT! |

yes they hired cops but what training did they have and where did they come from. Dolton is not enforcing the residency rule so we still ave no protection. The new officers come by way of a grant but 3 years from now it will be on us to pay them. That is some bull s that i don't want to deal with. Plus the town is getting worse not better so what are these officers training for?? To look pass the drug dealers and thugs hanging out. Geez
Well, if they hired them...they of course already had their credentials, hence no academy training neccessary, just department training! Dolton doesn't have the money/resources to send anyone to the academy. In regards to the residency rule....it was lifted back in 92-93! Therefore, those who were officers during that time-frame are grandfathered under that ruling! Folks always got something to say about officers not living in town. However, they just swore in all those White fire-fighters and had to pay them a nice settlement split between all of them. None of them live in town!!!!!!!! I'm quit sure there are a few other village employees who don't live in town either. However, everyone got something to say about residency regarding the police department!!! Only officers during Shaw's reign were to the live in town! The late mayor, didn't even enforce it! He's the one that brought all his Chicago people in and none of them moved into town!!!!!!!!!! In regards to the grant and being on us in three years. I rather pay for officers to patrol the community then 6-figure salaries to lawyers that don't do JACK; in my opinion that serve on the board! Not to mention a 6-figure salary to the late Mayor's brother to serve as a commissioner. That's what people need to be upset about! |
Are you kidding WHAT TRAINING???? Credentials WHAT !!! They CAN"t WRIGHT REPORTS!!! WHY ARE THERE SO MANY HOUSE BEING BROKEN INTO? WHY IS ROBERT SHAW STILL HERE?? SO WE KNOW WHO RUNNING THE TOWN AND IT NOT MR.RONNIE LEWIS. I SAW ALL THE PEOPLE WEARING SHIRTS IN DOLTON PARK ON THE 4TH OF JULY. IT HAD ROBERY SHAW NAME EVERYWHERE!! GIVE US A BRAKE AND MR. LEWIS GET A BACK BONE AND KICK HIM OUT OF HIS JOB!! THAT WAS PUT INTO PLACE FROM HIS BROTHER WILLAM GAVE HIM. SAVE US IN DOLTON A LOT OF MONEY!!! OH I GUESS YOU CAN'T MAYBE HE KNOWS YOU TO WELL!! |
No one is kidding. They didn't just hire folks off the street! They were already officers and got hired on at Dolton for part-time positions. Just like when you seek employment elsewhere, with the current skills you have to work for another organization and get hired!!! They can't write reports? Who are you? Why don't you show them, since you're an expert? You obviously have troubles, because you seem to frequent the police/police department alot. I'm so sick of people complaining but don't do anything as a community to help rectify the problems. Robert Shaw is still there because no one is demanding his resignation as a community! No one is questioning the mayor they voted in. Ronnie Lewis didn't place himself in office...civilians of Dolton did. Therefore, don't complain!!!!!!! By the way, he (Robert Shaw) knows me as about as good as he knows you! Not at all!!! Seems like anyone who doesn't agree with this board must know the mayor/Robert Shaw personally...NOT! I reside in Dolton too and if parents raised these demon-seeds around here...Dolton would be a better place. Not to mention, if the residents would take care of their property...Dolton would be a better place. If they would show up to the village meetings...Dolton would be a better place. Dolton's social ills are no worse than any of the other neighboring communities. |
No he ran as the right team. Or that what the paperwork said about the team that made it in. What are they right for? Maybe there right for leaving Dolton ! They have not change anything!!!!!!!! |
I'm with you. What a joke I saw today Lewis is putting his name on all the public works trucks. How is that a changefrom Shaw? We the people of Dolton Pay for the trucks to be bought. Maybe if he want to pay for them he could put his name on them! |

1 In regards to the Robberies and Officer Training...they are training them (Officers) to Rob the Houses and keep quiet about it...that's why there are so many!!!! They are a group of uniformed Thugs!!! There are some exceptions and they know who they are... and it is very few of them...I feel sorry for the officers who desire to do the right thing because their hands are tied by the multitude of inept, unqualified, Snakes in the Grass. |

1 I agree, any honest officer will not make it in any south suburban department because they are worried about that person being a FED. |

Wrong...wrong...wrong! Shaw didn't run any one out! Many of them couldn't handle serving under a African American...so they got pissed and left!Once again, they left on their own accord! He didn't want that to happen because the department was effective and needed the veterans skill-experience. That's my understanding. I've lived in Dolton for ages, and know exactly what went down. Just like all the other mayors in other communities mayors appoint their Chiefs, and administrative heads. Therefore, when Shaw first got in office, there of course were changes and they just couldn't handle it! None of them lived in town anyway...so who cares!!!! While I'm on the subject it's so interesting that residency had been lifted nearly 20 years ago...and no one said JACK when all the White village employees moved out of town...but now it's such a freakin' issue! People of Dolton, need to raise their children right, stop littering the streets, take care of their property, get involved in the community and maybe that will jump-start saving Dolton. It's not the sole-responsibility of the police department or the mayor's office!!!!!! |
By the way, how do you know what their qualifications are? You've seen their resumes? Most of them have college degrees or credits towards degrees. Not to mention, they all had to be trained and successfully complete the academy! Not to mention, pass various testings. They just don't fill out an application, and get hired! |
Crystal that is an absolutely ludicrous accusation. Let's see, do you have this all on video/audio tape? Have you witnessed officers robbing homes, first hand? Do you have a list of their names? Your posting is slanderous and libel. Please with everything going on regarding corruption in the City of Chicago and Suburbs alike, the Feds would be all over that. Not to mention, all the media-junkettes! They love to come to predominantly Black communities and slam them for corruption! It would be a media-frenzied field day; just like the current ordeal with the village of Harvey! |

Whatever..
I tell you this, the village board meetings are a freaking joke. the decisions are made behind closed doors, there is never any open debate, and when they open up for citizens address, thats just a bitch fest to make the residents feel like somebody is listening, and the same people hve been coming with the same complaints for idunno how many years....im just sick of it all |
Yes, I am sick of it all, too! When you go to the meetings it is the same old bullshit. Ms. Green sits there and has no input, Mr. Lowe sits up there and babbels about no interesting things, Ms. Harris gives her input, the attorney never tells the citizens what she is talking about, the Mayor talks well, Clerk Evans is knowledgeable and informative, Ms. Nicholson has been absent since April, Mr. Jefferson thinks he is funny-wrong, Mr. Lambert never speaks up, but is always ready to adjourn and second it. If there are 27,000 residents shame on you --there are less than 100 people at these village meetings. That tells us citizens that go to the meetings that you do not give a crap...If you are working and cannnot make it to the meetings, you should make it a point to go to the village clerks office (where you pay your water bill), the next day and ask for a report. WE NEED more interest in the Village of Dolton--clean up the streets and so on. Make this a project at the schools and after school clubs (if there any), ask these children what they would like to see in Dolton and then turn the reports in. Have a commission of non-- village employees to gather and see what they can conjur up. It is not too late residents...be interested and concerned about Dolton and its Future!!
