I had the honor of meeting a number of these men a number of years ago. They were coming home from a reunion at the Mashantucket Nation while I was flying out on business. I thanked them for their service. They noticed I was wearing my Sub Vet cap and they also thank me for mine. We are losing more of these heroes every day (my dad, WW2 Silver Star awardee passed away last year). They are a truly a national treasure.
