A repeating theme asked in the comments above is what is happening in FL? I can tell you what is not happening. Children are losing what little rights they have everytime the legislatoro creates new laws. The latest law being passed will now leave child custody in the hnads of the person with the most money. A child who is placed with an abuser (as happens more frequently with untrained gal's and judges determining custody proceedings) will have no recourse against the judge or the gal for recommending the placement. All in an effort to remove loaded words from a statute. I have a suggestion for some words to place in FL State Statute Chapter 61. How about putting "in the best interest of the child" back in? Then we would see fewer cases of abuse of children and women. But FL needs money and what better way to get it than to create work within the state - in DCF and many other agencies such as divorce court, dependency court and criminal court. Make good laws - lose money, make bad laws, everyone except the victims win.
