Thompsonville needs a new fire station. The current one has out lived its usefullness. If we can get stimulus money for a new station all the better. Please support your fire district.

I concur with the above statements and would like to add that the station is ratty and old.

Actually, the money that the Thompsonville Fire Department was originally given was for repairs and improvements. But instead of fixing their station, they misappropriated the funds, hired an architect, and drafted plans for a new fire station.

It's hard to speak out against heroes, but folks, there are more than half a dozen fire stations in Enfield. They are all staffed by professionals, not volunteers. AND they all levy their own district taxes, completely independent of town gov't oversight.

I hate to say it folks, but if you live in Thompsonville, your taxes will be going up because of this.

UNBELEAVEABLE !! Now T'Ville is going to build a ONE STORY Fire Station, and they say they are Cramped now ? What do you think is going to happen, Oh Yeah, in a few years YOU T'Ville Taxpayers are going to be hit up again for MORE money to build a 2nd floor, if not 3rd floor, This is how your FD is going to get around the funding, and ALL OF YOU TAXPAYERS are going to fall for this plan. What a bunch of losers you are.

Its not going to cost tax payers anything. The stimulus money will pay for it. Plus the town will give them part of the land for parking. The town will help them through the permit process too. This is a slam dunk!

wow someone is drinking haterade this morning. just because they are looking to build one story to save money doesnt mean they arent trying to maximize and expand on the existing buildings size to work better for them. things like this arent designed willy nilly without thinking about future needs and possible expansion taken into consideration

Hey Me Too, You really haven't a clue do you. The other four departments in town only have what you call professionals working monday through friday during daytime hours. All other times are cover cover by the volunteer professionals. And also just for your info us volunteers get the same training from the same instructors as the full time paid "PROFESSIONALS" as you call them. Oh yea, us volunteers and the paid staff of each department in town all work very well together. Just because we don't get paid doesn't mean they are any better or worse then us volunteers. We are just as dedicated and proud as our paid counter parts.

Holy Smoke Batman > Since when is a "ONE" story building going from FOURTY FEET TO SIXTY-FIVE FEET, a One Story Building ? As in the Zoniing request. If you Taxpayers in T'Ville, fall for this one, be prepared to pay your Higher Tax Rate FOREVER !! The T'Ville FD is sure slipping you a slow one, Because it will be one addition after another, and >> Watch It Grow, just like the Community Garden Grows. HA HA to you all.

they can only build what is permitted at this time, if the permit is for one story it is a one story building, i cant comment on these random height numbers you are throwing out since i dont know where you are getting your info from.

Why is a conservative Republican town like Enfield accepting stimulus money? Didn't they spend any time at their local teabag party?

Thompsonville FD should be disbanded. Tville could easly be covered by N.Tville and Enfield F.D. 8

WOW, is that FireHouse going to OUT-DO the T'Ville neighborhood, Looks like they want to be Top-Dog in town, with the Greatest and Grandest Fire Station. Sure is going to look out of place in OLD T'Ville. AND for only 5 to 7 Firefighters working at any given time, ONLY being able to get ONE of THREE Apparatus out on a call. Ah, that is all right, the T'Ville taxpayers don't mind paying more in their Fire Taxes.
What is going to happen to this Grand Dam, when they go out of business, due to their money problems getting out of hand, maybe the STrand people will want to take it over. Good Luck To YOU Poor Taxpayers !!!
