An absolute CRAPLOAD of hail hit! Thankfully no damage as it was between 1/4' and 1/2" in diameter. Very fast moving storm.

My guess straight line winds. Since it is such a small area that the damage was done in. I was in Target when the hail started and it sounded like someone was just pounding on the metal roof deck.

As soon as the warning was issued I headed to a high spot near Loganville where there is an clear view of the sky and horizon in all directions.

I saw the most clearly defined and ominous wall cloud in the more than a decade that I have been making obeservations for NOAA.

At one point low level clouds were racing from the south and the north at the same time toward one point. That point was not visibly rotating but only an area of very intense low pressure (like an embryonic tornado) could act like that.

I will not be at all surprised if in fact northastern York Co or NW Lancaster was hit by an F-1 tornado.

This is a result of the vast number of people in York who back into parking spaces in parking lots. It's just an outrage

we were at the corner of 462 and mt zion when it hit. the hail was so huge!
a lot of cars were pulled over on the side of the road. and others tried to find cover under awnings on banks and drive thrus.
we were heading towards hellam. lots of trees and signs blown down. looked like smaller hail the closer you got to the river.

My husband was caught outside in it at the park with our 3 and 6 year old daughters. It rolled in so quickly!! Everyone was drenched when they made it back to the house (a block and a half away from the park) and the girls were scared to death of the hail. I have never seen it come down with such force as it did today!

Live in Stonybrook area off Pleasant Acres. The wind and rain were so strong they caught up the stones left over from the Springetts Township winter maintenance just picked them up and shuffled them to the middle of the streets. When it was all over the stones were scattered in the streets and on front lawns and sidewalks, with tree limbs, leaves and debris. There is still some ice on lawns. Right before the rainn and wind hit many of our neighbors were outside pointing to the sky. The cloouds were so different then usual. Unless a person was watching TV and seeing a weather alert they would have never expected that magnitude of winds and hail. But it seemed it was gone as quickly and brisk as it arrived. Our area just plain lucky or mother nature much kinder than up off Pleasant Acres. .

If backing into parking spots causes severe storms then what does lazy rude people parking along the front in the fire lane of Walmart cause? Just big butts I guess.

I've seen the police run off the same people over and over again only for these bold people to return and cause traffic hazards for those leaving the store and the traffic trying to get around the obstecle course. My husband , daughter and friends have stopped shopping Walmart because of this problem. It doesn't happen at Weis, Food lion, Giant. So what is the problem with Walmart. Springettsbury could lower their taxes if they prosecuted and received money for all those illegal parkers, not to mention the ones who take up the handicap spaces and aren't disabled. The cops are there anyway 90% of the time for shoplifters so why not do a double take on the incosiderate parkers.

Haven't even made the first payment on my new car...now with atleast six hail dents on the hood. My brother was waiting for the cows to start flying. We left Jim Mack's w/ the family and kids, drove into Hellam feeling like we were in Oz.
