Putting everything else aside (atmosphere, prices, ownership) and just focusing on the quality (not quantity) of food alone, which one of these two buffets does Southern food better?

I've always been going to Market Diner whenever I'm down in the area, but apparently Seminole Wind has come into existence over the past few years. I know people say Seminole Wind has a wider selection, but what about the quality of each individual dish?

For me, it's all about quality. I want the veggies to be fresh, not from cans. So how do the two places compare in this regard?

A friend of mine took me a while back to this small buffet place over in Pelham in the Hands Building (I think that is the name of that building) He told me I had to try it, he found it one day when he had to go over there for business. Anyway I don't know the name of the place but I am sure it is the only one in downtown so it is easy to find.

It is hands down one of the best I have been too. Not a huge selection like Seminole Wind but plenty.

Here is the good part, they grow most of what they serve and everything is fresh and local. They can and put up fresh vegetables to use in their restaurant. Just like one would do at home with fresh vegetables. This place is very, very good and fresh. Taste just like you went to your grandmothers house for Sunday dinner.

It has been several months since I have been, I don't even think I have been this year but the last time I went,(I have been 3 times total) it has been beyond good!

Anyone else been there?

Tommy and Mary are related so some of the food is probably the same.
However, I prefer Seminole Wind because to me the food is better and the place is cleaner. They're vegetables taste fresh and I have been there when fresh peas, greens, melons, etc. were brought in. So for me it's Seminole Wind hands down. They serve quality food as well as quantity.

Does Seminole Wind have any plans to continue to expand their locations? I know there is one in Cairo and Thomasville so far.

The Market Diner gets my vote. The food is excellent and the staff is attentive. Also the buffet is hotter and has heat lamps. As for clean...at leastl they don't sweep around the buffet while there is food on it which they did while I ate at Seminole Winds.

It's all about the same considering it's the same family of people who own the two. family members tend to follow the same recipes or close to it. it's not a huge debate.

If you want excellent, REAL southern cuisine, try Audrey's in Cairo on 93 South. No restaraunt beats her southern cooking! It actually has taste and great taste at that. No school cafeteria tasting food there like you get at Seminole Wind or the Market Diner. No religious or political views shoved down your throat their either.

I really don't mind the religious or poltical views being displayed. They are there for you to read or ignore, NOT shoved down your throat. However after eating at Audreys, I'd much rather eat at the school cafeteria!
