Anonymity is such a fine thing, you can say the most outrageous things without any fear or repercussion. I would love to see either ricbee or badger walk into a firehouse and repeat the same things they've said in here. In the end, it's just a couple of ignorant people who have an axe to grind and who would otherwise be standing on their front step yelling at kids to stay off their lawn.

ok, I really didn't understand the purpose of this comment, but if you think you would enjoy waking up at 1:00 AM in December in the freezing cold to go out and play with water, why don't you try to be a fireman?

Most firemen in the state aren't paid - they are volunteers, and the ones that are paid get paid whether there are any fires or not.

Most house fires occur when someone is at home. The ones that occur in empty buildings without utilities hooked up are a small subset and suspected of arson.

When this guy had been the one to reprot multiple suspicious fires, I wonder why he wasn't caught earlier.

Well, I don't know about the pay, but I have read many articles about firemen starting fires, just for the excitement of it all. I am with you Ricbee, this is the tip of the iceberg. Also, the kids reason for starting these was "I wasn't appreciated".

of course you have read a lot of these stories, the media sensationalizes them. I'm sure there are many more fires that aren't all over the news, and in everyones faces.

True, I agree with you. However, when it is a fireman or a firemans child who starts fires, it IS newsworthy. So what if it is sensationalized? My God, think about it!
