Towns look to generate wind to save money

Full story: WTNH Hartford, New Haven and Connecticut

Several towns are looking for power in the wind. Windmills may be more plentiful and generate power more readily in the vast stretches of California and Texas than in Connecticut.

Let's get another nuke plant or so in place.
Also we have many dams - are we using them as best we can?
Solar is great peak shaving power, especially on a warm sunny day....

Let us use technologies that are proven before we try any that the ROI (return on investment) is uncertain.

How about all the wind that comes from Hartford? Those windbags in charge could light up the state for years.

These are not the only towns looking into wind as a resource. There was an article in the New London Day a week or so ago about North Stonington building the first wind farm in the state. It will be used to generate cash for the town to offset costs and energy efficiency

You beat me to the punch. What you've said was my first thought when I read the article. The LOB has enough wind to power the whole state for a hundred years.
