Lucas suggests Keating as U.S. attorney general
Congressman Frank Lucas is suggesting former Oklahoma Governor Frank Keating to replace Alberto Gonzales as U.S. attorney general.
A team like Wes Lane and Frank Keating was a scary thought that was their idea of justice in the state of Oklahoma think what it would be as Attorney general. That state still shaking as the results of that.
You dont up hold the law by allowing those in position to protect the peoples rights to bend it and break it to achieve a means to an end.
I can give a few reasons to distrust him.
1. "Dreyfus/Keating Scandal" As it unfolded it has been revealed that Dreyfus had approached Keating while Keating was a federal employee in an effort to further Dreyfus's belief that the drug "Dilantin" was a miracle cure for many of the ills of society and particularly its prison inmates. Dreyfus claimed that Keating was the only government employee that had attempted to assist him in advocating the drug for uses which even its manufacture did not claim. In return for Keating's efforts Dreyfus has seen fit to present yearly gifts in the amount of $10,000 to the three Keating children, as well as their parents for a total of approximately $240,000. According to published news reports these "gifts" began while Keating was a federal employee and continued during the early years of Keating's term as Governor of Oklahoma. he later returned the money.
Evidently as the Governor at that time considered false convictions of innocent persons one of those "tough luck" issues for which government bears no responsibility.
It should be noted that the $200,000 compensation limit contained in legislation twice vetoed by Governor Keating is less than the $250,000 that Keating received from Mr. Jack Dreyfus, in what many consider an 'influence peddling scam' during Keating's years in both federal and state government. Once Mr. Dreyfus''gifts' to Keating were discovered, the Governor returned the money to Mr. Dreyfus.
2. The 'Evolution Disclaimer' Fiasco
The latest attempt involved a clearly unconstitutional attempt to include 'Creationism Theory' by way of an 'evolution disclaimer' mandated for inclusion in all biology textbooks approved for use in Oklahoma's public schools.
3. He was behind putting Wes Lane in to office as Da.
I only listed 3 but for any one who wants more I can comply. This is not theory but true.
