The taxpayers in Rockland County don't have the tax dollars the county expects them to come up with for their 2009 budget. The county has to cut expenses the same way private companies are cutting expenses...they are cutting back employee hours/days, benefits and cutting back on their staff. If the county thinks it has lost sales tax dollars, just wait, 2009 is going to be a rude awakening for this county.

No way will I vote for the legislators who voted this budget in.

Like a lot of folks in this state and county, I have a job. I work, they pay me. I pay my taxes and the government distributes my taxes as it sees fit. In order to get that paycheck, I am required to pass a random urine test with which I have no problem.

What I do have a problem with is the distribution of my taxes to people who don't have to pass a urine test. Shouldn't one have to pass a urine test to get a welfare check , Medicaid or section 8 because I have to pass one to earn it for them?

Please understand, I have no problem with helping people get back on their feet. I do, on the other hand, have a problem with helping someone sitting on their butts, doing drugs, destroying property, sleeping during day, committing crimes, reducing “Quality of Life” of others and receiving Welfare checks, Section 8 Housing and Medicaid while I work and pay for these programs....

Adding to this insult is the fact that if I get laid-off I would not qualify to receive assistance from the programs I paid into all these years.

Can you imagine how much money the state would save if people had to pass a urine test to get a public assistance check, Section 8 housing and/or Medicaid?

The following tax-payers bailout program saves lots of money and costs tax-payers nothing. It may instead give tax=payers a tax break.

Guess we could title this program,'Urine or You're Out'.
