How'd you like to be the guy that has to maintain the "thick crust" on the manure storage basins?

Has anyone thought of the quality of life of the animals that have to live like that? Where is the Animal Humane Society?

If you live near a feedlot did you expect it to smell like roses?

What if you owned the home before the feedlot? Then a big farm owned by some company from South Dakota comes along and ruins your property. This farm is one of many owned by as big corporation.

Now families can't go outside and enjoy the property like everyone else. It would seem that the rights of a home property owner need to be addressed too.

Of course there are meetings. The people that live there don't want them there. But they allow them to build it anyways. Then they set the rules that these corporations have to follow so the people who lived there PRIOR to the big feedlot can still live and enjoy the outdoors.

The complaint is that this feedlot is NOT complying with the rules...hence the fine.

I'm not a sue happy person but if I was ordered out of my house because of the danger, I'd be going after the very people who allowed that corporation to build there.

Dairy cows defecate, same as any other farm animal.

I agree, I hate feed lots, they are inhumane and everyone should be shut down. Thanks to the Congress and D A we have them to thank along with the counties and the state government for permitting this to go on. Doesn't make any sense!!!

MMMMM Feedlots! I just got done eating a rare sirloin steak that came from our feedlot that is filled with Angus. Good eating. The only thing better would be rare Wagyu.

I work for a company called Aquaterra Group out of NC and we have the technology produced by AAI (Advanced Aeration) that will fix the problem at that dairy. This different type of aeration has been shown to drastically reduce Hydrogen Sulfide and Ammonia and will FIX THE PROBLEM AT EXCEL DAIRY. Just need people to listen and give it a shot. www.advancedaeration.com Contact: Tom Hickey or [email protected]

Dairy farms CAN be good neighbors. University air quality studies have shown that the Hydrogen Sulfide readings at lagoon edge can be decreased by 90% in 2 weeks.

Watch the videos on www.stinkfreecarrington.com : interviews with Thief River residents who had to evacuate their homes due to the toxic gases emanating from Rick Milner's Excel Dairy. These are people who lived in the area before MN State Department of Health allowed the dairy to move into their neighborhood.
