Law enforcement officers have had to kill someone in the line of duty plenty of times before. Just because you don't like who did it, doesn't mean it wasn't a clean shooting.

He didn't have to shoot to kill, and why didn't he taser him?

You better believe some dope head with a weapon comes to attack me, his ass will get a bullet. You don't attack an officer regardless.

Everyone has the right to use deadly force to protect themselves and others. There is absolutely no. Doubt in my mind Chris did what he had to. There was 2 of them and the guy had a gun according to the news. When someone pulls a gun you have 2 choices. You die or shot to kill. That goes for law enforcement as well as everyone else. A taser would work great on someone without a gun from a distance but according to the news she was already resisting arrest. Chris did his job end of story

Springfield TV station KY3 is reporting that law enforcement officers are investigating a fatal shooting of a man by Douglas County Sheriff Chris Degase in a remote area of western Douglas County on Thursday morning. A Missouri State Highway Patrol spokesman say the shooting was about 10 a.m.
Degase got a call from a homeowner who was worried about two people sitting in a car in front of the homeowner's home. Degase questioned the people, who said their car broke down. Degase said he recognized the woman, Crystal Prock, as having a warrant for her arrest.
Degase said he tried to arrest Prock, 30, and she resisted. During the struggle, Degase said the man attacked him with an unspecified weapon and Degase shot him dead. Prock ran off into the woods.
The Highway Patrol sent an aircraft into the area to try to help officers on the ground find her. The Christian County Sheriff's Department has deputies helping Douglas County deputies and state troopers. The search was still underway in late afternoon.
Online records show Prock has a history of several crimes including stalking, adult abuse, and theft, as well as numerous traffic violations. Her most recent charge from 2010 is for stealing, for which she was ordered to make $180 restitution and serve five years of unsupervised probation.
In June, a judge ordered Prock to be arrested for violating terms of her probation. State probation and parole officers have filed several reports of probation violations against Prock in the past year. At least one of the violations was for failing a drug test.
The shooting was near the intersection of Douglas County roads 542, 546 and 548, between Ongo on Highway UU and Red Bank on Highway O at Highway NN.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol will investigate the shooting. Its spokesman, Sgt. Marty Elmore, did not release the name of the man who was shot and killed.
Degase has been sheriff since 2009.

Obviously Crystal Prock is an angel and her companion was a charter member of the local Welcome Wagon....NOT!!!
Get the dogs out and hunt her ass down. Good ole southern justice and posse time.
Sounds like the sheriff did exactly like he was supposed to do.

The fool should have known better then to mess with a booger county Sharif when he is about to lose an election! Roland Turner did the same thing to get reelected a few years back!

Sheriff Degase did what he had to do. The loser was already on probation for illegal activities. Sheriff was only doing what he was elected to do. As far as I am concerned it is just 2 more stupid people off the streets. What if it had been a child the guy came after...your spouse...your grandma. Would you be complaining about it then? No, you would be damn happy that the sheriff did what he had to do.

Not beleiving that it was a pair of pliers. kkoz reported this also
I am sure that they have no clue what happened
He is a great sheriff and I do not understand why the media continues to write and report lies about him. first the herald and now the radio stations they all need to get the facts straight and quit reporting such false allegations until the investigation is complete they have no clue.

I heard he shot at him 4 times and hit him 3. If this is true, that would be overkill, especially if the guy just had a pair of pliers, which makes sense since he was working on a car. But I'm waiting till the investigation is over. This is hearsay.
