THIS IS GOING TO BE INTERESTING ..........
No doubt he is caught between a rock and a hard place, and probably won't show at all.
What goes around comes around, one just needs to be alert, and have the determination to stand ones ground with him. We must attend for this. Anyone taking bets Hasenauer won't show???
Thank you Parker for the heads up.

Simply unimaginable to me that he can deliberately go against the voted decision - and get away with it so far. Apparently untouchable. Politics at its very worst. Hopefully he will get the message that the Forestport community is not going to let him continue in this manner.

Sounds like he is trying to bully people in addition to stretching the truth ......
That rubber band will only stretch so far, then it will snap back and hit him right in the kisser.
Hopefully that will happen at the town meeting.
His actions have to be found illegal to say the least and I suggest he either be removed for his mental state, or because he has refused to obey the rule of the people that resulted from the voter referendum.
The town as a whole is in jeopardy and at great risk of this man's actions.
You and I have to obey the law, but because he was once a Sheriff, he feels he is above all laws.

Bill H is using the excuse that he won't sign the contract for the Boards approved plan because he wants the bridge to be 17"wider. The approved plan that the majority voted for is for a roadway width of 15'7". Exactly what it is now plus a full sidewalk on the falls side.
He told a board member that he would vote for Parker's bridge over his dead body.
It's not Parker's bridge, it's Forestport's bridge and the voters and the Town Board voted to proceed.
He really is awful! I will see you at the meeting.
The only people using the excuse about how wide the bridge is , is the people against it , 340 people voted to replace the twins and its time to follow the will of the people and get it going ...

Is there any danger to the snowmobilers who are using the bridge? It would appear that if they are unsafe..........they are UNSAFE .....be that unfortunate for the businesses in town, and I understand their needs, but what is the scoop in their USE? Has the town protected us at all? Even a cross at your own risk would allow those who don't know the conditions, that they can't sue the community if something happens..........

the twin bridges on the meekerville rd were closed in the 70s , it would seem that they would be a bigger concern than the ones in the village ...

oops, that is an error, sorry.
Was thinking of the closed bridge up past the Iranian farm that has been closed for years.

Are they posted so people know what they may risk if they choose to cross a closed bridge? If they are not posted, the taxpayers will pay.

If the board has to file an article 78 does that, when it takes effect make John Isley the Supervisor? If so how do we go about getting rid of John as well? You do all realize he is in Bills back pocket pulling the strings don't you?

Do you all realize that there are other members on the board who, if they stand together, Isley, and/or Hasenauer can not be affective and cannot get their way? AND I am not sure, but I don't believe the Supervisor has to or is supposed to vote on anything unless it is a tie. Please, someone check that out before the board meeting? It may come down to one vote that makes the difference either way.
There is so much can be learned from the way this has played out re: the bridges, from the get go.
Only in Forestport!!!!!

An article 78 will take at least a month to come to court and be settled.

I see on these topix sites that some people say to be informed and make changes with votes , but I see if you have a nut running the show , your vote doesn't count , Well get to the board meeting and make it count ... If it takes a month or more do it

This situation should be as important to our generation as it was at a point back in time when the Loggers went to Remsen to bring the ballot box back to Forestort so they could cast their ballots.
Our generation should be as gutsy. The next board meeting will tell if we love our town enough to fight for our right to choose what we want to have happen with it.
There is a big power struggle going on right now so someone can take the Supervisor's place, in addition to the bridge vote.
Get the bridges secured for the Zangrilli proposal which is the best deal this town will ever get.
Then, look to the trail that could lead to a very egotistical person wanting to take the reigns without going through the ballot box .. because he could not get elected......only an appointment keeps him involved. This person has much at stake in this situation, but it will become a self-serving issue, not an issue that will make things better for us all, not just power happy greedy individuals.
There is more to come yet.
Get out and vote to accept the Zangrilli proposal, and then watch what happens.

this deal about the bridge having to be 17' wide is stupid , the new bridges will be the same as they have been for over 100 years , they have been plowed with the towns plows for 50 years that I know of , if the highway super can't plow them maybe he should resign and let sombody else do the job , remember he was responsable for mantainance of the old twins , and see how that worked ...

Keep strong. There is a story to come out yet, and it will be a Humdinger! There is rumor of conflict between the Super, the Deputy and perhaps the other contractor. People have got to flush this out into the open, and ignore all the reasons why we should not move forward using the Zangrilli proposal.
I had read about what Forestport people can accomplish when, like in it's rich history, the loggers came out of the woods and brought the ballot box from Remsen so the people here could have the right to cast their ballots.
Some also say there is a falling out in the ranks of those who may or may not have hidden interests in this situation. Only a vote to move forward with the proposed Zangrilli Bridges will bring this to light and as a possible bonus, the whole story will expose any back room dealings that may have been made on the side, and the Forestport people will have the bridges THEY want.
None of us would want to find out that ANY elected official would stand in the way of the voters legal election process that had given a clear mandate to the Board of what we want.
BUT should that be proven, there should be people going to jail in our community. I hope this does not happen that way, but TIME WILL TELL THE TRUE STORY.

All I know is the taxpayers better not be footing the bill for board members suing each other over this- THAT is ridiculous ....
