I have been attending ATI Career Training Center over the past 10 months and have completed all required course studies and should be graduating at the end of this month. However, I will not be allowed to because the administrators of this institution failed to, as they were required to do through their externship program, provide me the opportunity to practice what I’d been taught between the last day of course studies and the date of graduation. Therefore, after convincing me that they were in the business of helping me get all of the tools required to succeed in my new career choice they walk away. They won't even return my phone calls. Of course they do so only after tying me to a financial commitment not just to the federal loan agencies but to them as well through a loan supplement that total thousands of dollars extending years down the line. Rather than prove to be in the business of aiding people, many of whom are desperate to find a new career to feed their families because what they were doing they can no longer find a market for, they become just another financial weight they have to carry. They become another victimizer taking advantage of those just looking for a fair opportunity to keep a roof over their heads who thought ATI Career Training Center represented a chance at a new beginning. This institution is more interested in making money at the expense of those who think they are there to offer them an education and support just like 2 or 4 colleges and technical schools. They find out way too late, like myself, that they couldn’t have been more mistaken. But this institution has already cashed your check as well as those sent to them from the government or private providers with your name on it.

I worked for ATI for a short while. I was one of the most-liked teachers there, but I have to say, this company is bad news.

The school is really a business. Their main concern is money. They drive all the teachers like sales people trying to keep all the students coming to class.

The company works like this: there's a group of sales associates who's main concern is how many students they can enroll because they get $$ from their numbers (and if they don't make their sales goal, they get fired, so there's a LOT of pressure). So they tell lies and even enroll students who are not equipped for school (like homeless and physically disadvantaged people).

Then when the students come to class, they've been given a picture of a high quality and high standard class only to see that it's all bunch of crap. Although I have a teaching degree, sad to say, most instructors don't have adequate education (high school, associates degree, or foreign degree). In class, instructors are given a set of curriculum and were told to follow them strictly, but the curriculum is crap. When the students are unsatisfied with the education, we'd bring them in to talk to the director who's job is to convince the students that once they leave the school, their lives would be back to the slum. The instructors are awarded based on how many students re-enroll every month.

Once a month (or when sales goes down), all the instructors are called in to be yelled at and threated (to lose our jobs) by the directors because we are not meeting up to the teaching standards, and therefore the sales are down. We have to constantly call our students and force them to come to class, even in the 20 degree weather in the snow and even if we have to go pick them up ourselves. We're not allowed to sit in class and we don't get any breaks in a 10 hour work period (well, technically we get "breaks" but during that 10 mins, we have meetings and had to call students to see why they missed class and fill out paperwork. There's no time to eat a decent meal).

Our school building is crap too. Ceilings falling off, open wires hanging from the ceilings, A/C heater broken so we were stuck in rooms without ventilation. When students smoke outside, the air gets blown in and cause people to get very sick, but they still have to attend class. The fire department came in and everybody had to quickly hide all the illegal stuff so that they won't shut the school down.

This place is a slave driver. I have never been treated like this anywhere else. I feel very degraded working at this company. I love my students but they are all just numbers to this place. I hope the lawsuit shuts this place down.

The former instructor who posted on Oct 11th hit the nail on the head. ATI is bad news! The only reason I went to work for ATI is because I had lost my job and I needed a paycheck asap. I worked in the Financial Aid Dept and my manager was an acquaintance who helped me get the job.

The place really does drive you like a slave. We were not permitted to take any breaks during our shift and ATI offered no formal training to its employees.

On average, one person in the Admissions Dept was fired weekly. If you didn't enroll so many new students per month, you were history!

After 10 weeks of working for ATI, they showed me the door - and provided no reason nor explanation.

All I can really say to those reading this is simply this:

If you're looking to find employment, DO NOT come to ATI. You will be treated like a doormat.

And, if you're looking to enroll, DON'T! You will end up in so much student loan debt, it's crazy!
ATI won't advertise this FACT, but they are a for-profit school. So that means you will pay 2-3 times as much for your schooling.

You're better off enrolling at a local community college or a 4-year university!

Don't waste your time with ATI. They are CROOKS!

Well I go to ATI and I do see that it's a money bussiness. However the instructors I have dealt with try to teach those who are there to learn. It's all what you make of it.Is it the best school? NO... But if you have already enrolled and have the debt...show up everyday and learn what you can, Use the school as a tool to better your self. Most students that go there don't know how to be proffesional and they are just as to blame for the bad rap as the school. You drive by and all you see are people saggin' and acting like they are in thier hood. The school has a dress code and rules but....."It is what it is"

Oh I know how you feel. I still work at one of the schools in Dallas and this place is a joke. I see the instructors pulled in to meetings everyday to be told that they are doing a shitting job!! And the admissions process is a JOKE. I have seen a mentally challenged man enroll into our school and we were told basically pass him even though he did know a thing. There is nothing wrong with have a mentally challenged individual at the school, but of the administration did not know how to handle him. Oh I pray someone was with him when he was doing his financial aid paperwork. The credits from the campuses do not transfer anywhere. Most of the people that are "corporate" are either related to each other or sleeping with each other. I have seen people work 7 days a week and are told to clock out and still work. WTF!!!

I'm ashamed to say I worked there for a little more than a month in Admissions. I left because their admissions "interview" is so negative and I was scolded when I didn't find out enough bad things about the prospective student. I was also told that I could not speak my foreign language to the prospects because everything was in English at the school. I realized that, but sometimes people are more comfortable speaking in their first language. I decided, the same day I was told that, to quit. I honestly can't say I really learned anything there that I can take with me into my next job.

To all of you that are complaining. How many of you actually graduated from high school? The thing is that many of you dont care about your own future and the fact that you realized that you are a loser you needed to do something. So you decide to go to school, a school that does what they say they will do and then you blow class off, do drugs still, fight, and not study: then you have the nerve to down talk ATI? Really? How many of you could actually get into another school? Very few of you!
The thing is that you need to focus on yourself and stop being a loser who waited to do something in life and now since you failed at being an adult you have to attack adults that are therre for you. My next issue is Financial Aid, where can you go to school for free? NO WHERE! Also you dont pay 16K, you actually atke loans for however much but it is the people like me who pay over 12K a year in taxes that pay a percentage of your Pell. Many of you have never worked a day in your lives. Selling drugs is not a tax paying job.
What really is amazing is that you really belive you should go to school to get a refund check! Really????? I never imagined that I needed to get money to go to school. I was so motivated to get my EDUCATION, not money to live. That is why you get a full time job and go to school at the same time!
The thing is that everyones life is different. Stop listening to people who down talk the school. Look at the number of post by the same people and compare the number to a average student population of 600 students and you will see it is just a select few. ATI is SUCCESS DRIVEN and they want their students to be the same.
i didnt finish school and camt spell to save my life i am going to this school right now i hate it wish i would of looked around befor coming here but i was always told to fininsh what you start and i will but i will tell anyone to join here its a scam alll they care about is the money i am a student /work at the school to i was a sub contracter befor here i am not to bright but a hard worker and i know a scam when i am in one but for all that are already in make the best of it you pay no matter what but those looking in coming here look around first thank you

I attended ATI in NRH, Tx. I graduated with 4.0 GPA and they want me to work for little of nothing what a freaking joke, I spoke to a man about employment and he asked where i got my training i told him ATI and he laughed and told me hell no, they had been contacting him wanting him to be an instructor...So now im in debt to the Federal Government and they want me to work for minimum wage thanks alot ATI you got me on this one but I feel that if enough people pull together we can get a great lawsuit together and become undebted to the Government. thats all i want the training was a freaking joke, the instructors were a bunch of old motorcycle mechanics that did not teach from the book but taught from there own theories thats why when you tell someone that you graduated from ATI they just laugh at you....now i have to work a job that i dont enjoy and have to pay this damn debt and it sucks.....

well i am currently a student at ATI CAREER TRAINING CENETR on technology blvd. im actually in my last few days of class, when i first started this program i was very excited, nit paying attention to the rumors at the time, cause i thought they were just that, rumors, my first instructor i had the first three months was great, she taught well, very good, and i learned a lot from her, but whrn i got into my fourth mod this instructor had us doing crosswprd puzzles, essays on things that have nothing to doo with us advancing or learning anything in our feild. im like we are not in middle school, also making scrapbooks every week, and ect. but i just figured since im practically done i might as well make the best of it. but if i knew then what i inow now, i defdinatley would not reccomend this bull crap school to anyone.

I WOULDN'T RECOMMEND NO ONE TO GO TO ANY ATI. IF ONE ATI IS LIKE THE ONE ON TECHNOLOGY BLVD THEN I WOULD THINK ALL OF THEM ARE THE SAME. I RAN THROUGH ABOUT 4 TEACHERS IN A YEARS TIME. I REALLY DIDNT GET NO HANDS ON TRAINING LIKE WE SHOULD HAVE GOT. LECTURE TIME WAS NOT ALL THAT EITHER. THE TEACHERS ACT LIKE THEY PAY MONEY TO GO TO SCHOOL. I HAD A FULL TIME JOB AND HAD TO QUIT JUST TO GO DO MY EXTERN. THEY CLAIM TO WANT TO HELP BUT DON'T HELP YOU DO ANYTHING. I HAVE TO PAY BACK ALMOST 12,000 DOLLARS FOR WHAT EDUCATION I DON'T HAVE. I THINK A.T.I IS IN THE BUSINESS FOR MONEY. THEY GET YOUR MONEY AND DON'T CARE NOTHING ELSE ABOUT WHAT GOES ON. I'M THINKING NOW TO FUTURE MY EDUCATION IN SOMETHING ELSE BUT I WANT BE GOING BACK TO A.T.I FOR SURE. THEY ARE A BIG RIP OFF AND MONEY IS OWED BACK TO THE LOANER FROM I GUESS TEACHERS DOING NOTHING.

I attented ATI in Oklahoma City, I know work as a payroll clerk because of what I learned. While I was in school I heard lots of complaints by other students. Most of those students were the ones coming to class when they wanted or causing problems in the classroom or hall ways. My Teachers where very helpful and knew what they wheree teaching. So all the people that are complaining grow up take charge of your life or shut up
