They've lost most of their better players in the last year or so and even if they did somehow go to the "big dance" again they'd probably just choke like they did in '08...

I detect some kind of strange resentment here. Don't hold your breath.

I don't get it. Why doesn't their best player(Neptune)start for them? Is it because she is a move in? That can't be it because Hower is a move in and she starts. I don't get it! She is far better than Hale, Roberts, and Hower. She makes things happen. Can definitely tell a difference when she is not in the game. Maybe coach will let her start by the end of the season.

He rotates the starters, it was her turn not to start, not Coach Meyers first rodeo. Alton may want to stay out of this after what ya'll did to his wife cause yours is coming.

It appears to me that his wife just has a hard time keeping a job. She complained about how Couch treated her when she wasn't asked to come back. I believe Kosh is her 3rd school in 3 years. Not a very impressive record. So, I wouldn't go there.

I haven't seen Couch play this year, but did catch some of the Thayer game on the radio. For being young, I was impressed with how well Thayer played them. Coach M. didn't pull all of his starters out of that game and I believe didn't pull any of them out till the last minute and a half of the game (LMAO) Couch would definitely be " just average" without their two move-in players. And yes, your girls will probably beat our girls. If that tickles your fancy then great. But, there are way more important things in life than winning a basketball game - even to a coach. Maybe you should figure out what those things are. But good luck to you and "your girls", I hope that you get the state championship that you are striving so hard to get. ;)

Wasn't it the Couch people last year raising holy hell about one of their players moving to Thayer? Im suprised they let their move in girls play at all. I mean, doesn't that make them hypocrites?

I think that Marshfield fought Neptunes transfer a little bit. Couch showed the community how NOT to act in that particular situation. A lot of people were glad everything worked out the way it did.

Hollis is a class act and expects his girls to be the same way on and off the court. It's obvious Meyer doesn't promote the same positive behavior out of his girls.

Now,now. There's no need to get testy. I never said it was his first rodeo. Just that I didn't understand why he didn't start his best player?

Still would like to see her make the starting line up every game.

Personally, I think Nessling would be the best player.

Eventually Neptune will start every game. Just watch. Even though her parents aren't teachers or on the school board.

nessling is probably the best scorer on the team but from what I saw in the Thayer game Neptune is the best all around player on the team, that night anyway. I would have a difficult time keeping her off the court regardless of how long she has been on the team. Especially with one of your returning guards being very turnover prone and another who is an ok ball handler but not a shooter and neither are above mediocre defenders. defensively Meyer improved his team in recruiting neptune and Hower which may lead them to columbia. I hope Cecil hasn't burned them out from his "open gym" practices like he did the '08 team.

Dont you think if he was going to recruit someone it would have been a six footer, to go with those less than mediocre guards that had them split with the state runnerup. Brian, next time you see him go tell how his open gym schedule cost them a state chamipionship, that maybe the only one he hasn't heard yet. So exactly when did they get burned out, the four games leading up to Columbia when they won by 20 plus or did they just acquire it when they got there.

Hey, I am from Thayer and a Bobcat supporter. Having said that, I really hope Couch girls win it all this year. It would be nice to have a State championship team in our county.

Good luck to all teams esp. Thayer

I am from Thayer as well, I'm a Bobcat alumni, as well as a proud Bobcat supporter. I'm not going to lie, every year, I always hope that the Bobcats win districts and get to play in the playoffs, but if they don't, I support any of the other area teams that do make it to the playoffs. I followed the Couch girls all the way to state I believe two years ago. Then, last year, our Lady Cats represented Oregon County in Columbia with their first ever Final Four appearance. What a fantastic job they did in earning state runner-up.
Didn't see much POSITIVE support from our neighbors out East.
Good luck to all of the area teams. Go BOBCATS!!
