Pretty funny you all just "assume" that you know what and who you are talking about. I know people over there from those apartments and there are always gonna be good and bad people no matter where you go. I also know who runs that place and she and her husband are not bad people. The people there who have an issue with them are most likely the same ones who are doing the drugs and starting bullcrap. Oh and just because EVERYONE there dont have a job does not mean they are the ones to blame. I think alot of people might need to learn some things before getting on here starting a mess with people :) just sayin......

Didnt the managers over there have their son living in one of those apt's illegally? Yeah Im positive they did, cause they were frantically trying to get him moved out of there before the big wigs showed up....
Also wasnt the managers over there asking the disbaled tenants for pain pills? That is illegal to ask for prescribed medication. If any of the tenants were pressured into doing so they need to contact the authorities....
I have been to those apt several times in the last few months and I see some of them with bins, mops, brooms, tools, etc on the balconies. Is that safe? Ive seen people that were visiting the manager use disgusting language in front of other visitors with children...Thats not right! What about the immediate eviction for utilities being shut off. I know for a fact that there is a particular tenant that had theirs shut off several times and remains a tenant.
These Apt's need to have Darlene Combs come manage them like she does across the street..Strict enforcement of the rules should pertain to EVERYONE, not a select few!
The bug infestation in those apt's proves that the managers nor the owners care abt their property. I wonder if the owners of those Apt's live with roaches crawling on their cabinets, dishes and childrens toothbrushes? Actually the health dept should be notified and the tenants should study the Fair Housing Laws...I know some good lawyers that would love a class action suit against the current owners of the property if they dont get it ALL up to adequate standards and get a manager in there that knows what they're doing and treats ALL people with respect and kindness. And most of all that treats each tenant equally and strictly enforces the rules governing tenancy at the apt's...
TENANTS: These are income based apt. you have been accepted there because your income falls within a certain range that is considered low income. Living there is in part a charitable donation from the state so please dont act like you expect the taj mahal. Cosmetic is not the important issue. Adequately working plumbing, electrical, and basic necessities are important. Whether you like the manager, or the people next door is irrelevant, you are all there because God blessed you with the ability to do so...act like it and quit acting like spoiled brats. If you want something bad enough you will earn it. There are disabled people that live there, is their spouses or grown children also disabled? If not it should be mandatory that they get a job!
I visited soon after Christmas and was amazed ro see some of the boxes that gifts had come in. AMAZING! I thought these people were low income..Big screen televisions, computers, etc WOW!!!!

I willassure you that the owners do not care. The supervisor of this property are not smart enough to blow their own noses but certainly come off as the experts. Some corrections however in your assessments. Qualifing as a disabled person qualifies the entire household to be there, and who knows whether or not the son or spouse is giving care to the person that is disabled. Most importantly, assistance is not a donation from the State. The State regulates the program but our tax dollars ultimately funds the program. Every time their is abuse, it is our tax dollars that suffers.

I agree with MOST of what you are saying. However, are you digging through their trash, or something? That's a little odd you know what people are getting for Christmas.... Anyway... My point is this... Anyone can live in those apartments. I think the rent goes up around $400+ for those who don't qualify for assistance. Do you know if EVERYONE there is on assistance?... Another point I'd like to make... Is it illegal for someone who lives in low income housing to have nice things? It was around Christmas you saw these things... How do you know that family or friends didn't get this stuff for them.. I don't know how you do Christmas, but we buy for all of our family and friends. Are you saying those who aren't as fortunate we should buy their gifts from the Dollar Store? If God chose to bless ANYONE by using another party, that is THEIR business! Who are we to say they shouldn't get nice things every now and then? At least people in those types of situations appreciate them a lot more! I don't know about you, but I feel so much better doing for those who are less fortunate than those who are capable. It really upsets me that people who are in tough situations get this type of treatment from everyone all because others could choose to be generous and do something so great for them! Good for those who got such awesome things!! Everyone deserves every gift God decides to bless them with!

Ok so I can see that someone missed the whole point of the above message...digging in the trash is unecessary when the large boxes are left outside, but anyway on to the point.
Your absolutely correct! It definitely is none of my business what someone may or may not get for the holidays. On the otherhand if said people are receiving state funded assistance with their rent and utilities then it is my business and every other working person in the state.
Im not a monster that deprives people of things they need. Nor do I believe that they should do without nice things. What I do believe is if you tell the state that you cant afford to feed your family, in order to get foodstamps and then you spend hundreds of dollars on an object that is not crucial to your family's well being then I consider that fraud. If you sign up for HUD and tell the agency that without their assistance your family would be homeless and then you buy a frivolous item, that also is fraud!
I believe that people that are low enough income to qualify for public assistance should be held accountable for every dime they spend, including what they buy with those foodstamps. if it makes me a horrible person to expect the government that I pay taxes to better regulate the spending of foodstamps that my tax dollars supply, then so be it.
I know a lady that lives in Mammoth Springs that has 6 or 7 kids, by different daddy's, all born on medicaids dime and she receives over 800 a month in stamps, yet everytime I do see her she has a cigarette in her mouth..Ive seen her at the grocery store and she purchases a bunch of junk food so she dont have to cook for those kids! THAT IS WRONG!!!!
When a person is disabled and unable to work because of health issues and receive HUD and foodstamps then their spouse if NOT disabled should be required to work or their assistance cut off...I know for a fact that if the person is handicap and needs an aid that one will be provided since their low income enough for assistance..
So please dont bring God's blessings into this topic...God helps those who are honest and diligent to help themselves. No where in the Bible does it say to lay up all day drawing foodstamps, HUD, and medicaid. It is very clear when it directs you to stay busy so you stay outta trouble, look it up, see for yourself...Find me one single scripture that says to get public assistance without working...

So what you're telling me is that u know these people personally. U KNOW that they r on HUD, on food stamps, on disability, etc? U seem 2 have problems w/ what they have, had you ever thought to bring it to their attention n ask them y they have their things n how they get them? U seem 2 b educated enough 2 know that u can't just go around assuming things... Rather than talking about them and posting THEIR business on the internet, why don't you take your concerns to them? Wouldn't that be the right thing to do? Too many people around here THRIVE off of gossip and assumptions. You know for a fact that they purchased it?? This is just lubricious that people would post these things rather than taking their concerns to the people. I don't know who you are, but an assumption is nothing to go on. And YES, I will bring God into this! Just because people are dealt a low hand, doesn't mean that God cannot bless them through someone capable.
You seem to know the people you are speaking of quite well to know their personal business. If you know them well enough to know these things, you should know them well enough to have this discussion with them rather than the people on the internet. Isn't it a rule on HUD to find a job to keep it? I know a few people that have been on the program and I could have sworn this is a rule. Anyway Like I said If you have a problem with them or someone with 8 kids, tell it to them. Seems to me like you could be one of the many around here gossiping bc you're not mature enough to tell them your concerns.

Proverbs 20:19
A gossip betrays a confidence; so avoid anyone who talks too much.
Romans 1
29 They have become filled with every kind of wickedness, evil, greed and depravity. They are full of envy, murder, strife, deceit and malice. They are gossips, 30 slanderers, God-haters, insolent, arrogant and boastful; they invent ways of doing evil; they disobey their parents; 31 they have no understanding, no fidelity, no love, no mercy. 32 Although they know God’s righteous decree that those who do such things deserve death, they not only continue to do these very things but also approve of those who practice them.

I have enjoyed reading these posts. I think all of us should remember that for many people, they did not ask to be disabled and many do not know how to break the vicious circle they are in. I would much rather see households be given training on how to go above what they are doing and how to become a more productive citizen. Sadly, too many are following in others footsteps and cannot see how to achieve a hand up instead of a hand out!

See this is very cowardly... I don't know who you are, but rather than making threats on the internet, why don't you discuss your problem with the person. This right here is why there is so much drama in Thayer. Only a coward makes threats to other people when talking about another individual. Please, do us all a favor and tell the person that you have a problem with them, rather than everyone else.

Normally people who are guilty of what they are being accused of act thus way.. Two, it doesnt make sense to say " for the people who called on me..." and then at the end put a letter of im guessing the person you say is the one who called........ j...... Many names start with j..... Care to elaborate?? And (C) is this a threat?
