I know you are telling the truth about this guy. You may want to try and call the new warden, she may do something but I doubt it. Bust him out on here by name or write it on THE GRITS FOR BREAKFAST BLOG about the incident and maybe if enough people do keep telling on this pervert maybe someone will do something. This unit has male and females officers that write sex cases up on these women as retaliation when they do not get their way. Visitation is where a family member or friend can see the preverted justice that goes on at this unit and guess what the rank approves and participates in these crimes. I believe we are talking about the same prevert that watches these women shower; however, my many friends down there have not told me about two or three of them.
if anyone has any proof an any type of abuse, preg. inmates, etc.. i would love to have it . i am sick of this happening!!!!! if yall can get me the proof i will promise you i will not stop till alot of changes are made. when my att. office opens up this morning i am going to give him a call and see what i can do, and who to contact. i also am going to try to get the news on it to. my email is [email protected] thank you.
p.s. stuff from the inmates that it is happening to would be a great help

I also remember this male officer or should I say clown that wears a grey uniform that is a straight up pervert. He stands on the chase pipe and watches the women shower then threatens them with write ups if they do not perform oral sex on him. The officers in charge of the Terrace unit sit back and encourage this and homosexual relationships then write the inmates up when they do not get their way with them. There is a black female officer who does not like the young white inmates because she is so ugly and very prejudice. She will write the young white inmates up but never write up the black inmates. She is either afraid of them and she shows gives them all special treatment. This woman has serious race issues and the Captain turns a blind eye to it.

" I spent 3 1/2 years on the Gatesville Unit which was actually renamed The Christina Melton Crain Unit in 2009. I spent 2 years at Terrace & 1 1/2 years at Sycamore which are 2 of 7 satellites of the prison. It is a very dark place where most of the guards families have worked for many generations so all of the meaness & contempt that they have for the prisoners has been instilled in them as they were growing up. It's in there blood as their parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, siblings hell all of them out there in Gatesville work for or have at onr time worked for the Prison or the boys home that it used to be.
I've seen women die in there because of neglect from guards to call for medical help during extreme emergencies that did result in death. There are a handful of guards that do treat you with respect if you give them respect but most of them have no business whatsoever be in charge of offenders but should in fact be in the system themselves. It was a very dark time out there during my incarceration in Gatesville & so glad I've done my time & came home already. "

Don't want sympathy just want you to believe that there is a chance that innocent people end up falling into the system. No sympathy, don't need any, nor want it, just think you should do research to see if it is possible before you go judging. Glad I did time, every teen I have ran across I have told them my story, and none have went to jail because I have told them how horrible it is. What a great statistic of mine huh? 100% effective. So just do your research then judge. Hope God finds your dark soul.

They might as well not even waste the courts time with an arrest in Galveston County. If the criminal act was committed by a cop, just like the drunk driving cop that killed the lady on 1764. The case will quietly go away. I guess Galveston County doesn't like to see cops corn holed in prison where they belong.

A former guard at the Crain Unit of the Texas Department of Criminal Justice, in Gatesville, has been indicted on charges stemming from investigation of allegations that he had sex with a female inmate.

David Stuart Tatarian, 27, was indicted on four counts of violation of the civil rights of a person in custody; improper sexual activity with a person in custody.

Tatarian was arrested in July after he turned himself into Killeen police.

He remained in the Coryell County Jail Friday in lieu of $100,000 bond.

Tatarian resigned in April after he learned he was under investigation for having an improper sexual relationship with an inmate, prison system spokesman John Hurt said earlier.

He started working for the prison system in August 2012.

Hurt said the allegations involved only one victim.

The Crain Unit is an all-female unit in Gatesville which houses about 2000 prisoners, said Hurt.

I believe that too.I came to Texas March of 2003, and stayed until Thanksgiving Eve of that same year. I came to Texas mistakenly. It was a friend's idea. Anyway, While in Texas, I reluctantly lived in homeless shelters with my then two yesr old dsughter. The first and the worst was the Salvation Army in downtown Dallas. The place functioned like a prison, with the men residing upstairs, and the women downstairs. The staff behaved like prison gaurds, who oppressed and psycologically abused the poor residents unfortunate to have to call the place home. I saw this type of oppressive behavior to be wide spread throughout the time I was in Texas. Over all, I found people in Texas to be calloused and heartless, like this officer, Keeton. It's like there is something in drinking water down there. I've been many place and have encountered many people, but none was like the people in Texas. If the people of Texas are cold hearted in the so called civilized society down there, I don't have to have a wild imagination to imagine what the people running their prisons are like.

. I'm sorry you had that experience. I had the opposite happen. Even last night I sat at a table with white, Hispanic, Asian, African American, Jamaican and German people and ate. We all had no malice only joy. I had a strangers hug me twice. I talked life with total strangers and shared laughs. There were Catholics, Christians of other denominations, Muslims, Atheist, Agnostic, etc. and none of us shared anything but joy and peace with each other.

Yes, I do know something. Sore subject actually. I got taken to the segregation part of Crain unit from the safp side (for protection) due to an offender throwing a chair at me during a required therapy exercise. I was a model offender (laughable to some, but really, I worked in my program and took the opportunity I had at SAFP very seriously.

While there, officer "t" had innappropriate contact with me and two other inmates that I know of.

After I returned to my unit it took OIG approximately a day to pull me down for questioning. I was initially threatened with having my program taken away (I only had about three months left of a nine month intensive program). I finally admitted the incident occurred after being threatened that at this stage I was being considered a victim, but if I didn't cooperate that all could change.

I was immediately taken off-unit (back to the same segregation unit the offense occurred) and told by the captain to not tell a soul while I was there, to make up a story that I injured another inmate (preposterous if you knew me, I was there for a low level possession charge and not someone who is in any way physically intimidating or aggressive). Rather than treated like a victim, I was humiliated in questioning by the captain, and even had disciplinary cases read to me for improper relationship with a tdcj staff which I found insulting, at the very least. I was treated as a violent offender would be, having to kneel in the back of my cell with my hands on my head when food was delivered through the tray slot. To shower, I was handcuffed and shackled and escorted by guards. Tdcj did not cooperate with Gateway (the company who runs SAFP). I was told
Nothing of what was to happen to me, and not allowed to call my family.

Randomly one day I was told to pack my things, where I was shipped to a transitional unit. This was a little bit after Easter in 2013. A lady representing the treatment division of tdcj spoke with me and her tune was much different than the captain at the other unit. I was told I would be transferred to another unit to complete my program, and that eventually I may have to testify at the officer's trial. That was the last I heard of anything till I randomly thought to google the incident and see what happened. Anyone who has anymore questions I would be happy to andwer- this situation was a major disruption to my treatment, not to mention, humiliating.
