ASARCO made a handful of people rich but it NEVER did anything good for El Paso or the area. Knock the stack down. Today.

ASARCO didn't provide jobs and pay taxes?

I have to say, sometimes jobs and added taxes just don't matter. ASARCO raped Texas, New Mexico and Mexico for years. They knew exactly what they were doing and regulators turned their back on public safety. Another case of short term gains vs long term safety.

As for the folks in El Paso that wanted to preserve the ASARCO stack, you are a bunch of morons! Ask those that are sick or the families of those that died from ASARCO's pollution if that is a fitting memorial.
