Obama is about to destroy this country and he hasn't even started his second term. Red river is laying off thousands. The stock market is down 800 points. But if you support Obama I am sure that doesn't effect you. I have worked to hat my life to see everything in this country go to shit in a hand basket. Was Romney the answer maybe not but we won't know. After obama's first 4 years we know for a fact he isn't the answer and the jury is still out on whether he is the anti Christ or not. Just read notradomist predictions and then look around at what's happening in the world! Don't say you weren't warned!!

Obama is not the anti-christ; that's silly. Leave off the unreliable Nostradamus prophecies too. Talk real life, please. If we stop the insane wars in the Middle East, which we should do as we had no business being there in the first place, then I would expect a reduction in the workload at the Army Depot. Then, those laid off need to find other employment even if they have to get some training in a new field. The RRAD has had booms and busts since it was begun, and it depends on the needs of the military. Any employee of any company should always have a backup plan. It is abhorrent to me to hear that someone wants to keep their job there even though more than one thousand of our military personnel have died in a place they should never have been at all.
Now, Don, I'm going to question your information. Exactly how many people have been laid off at RRAD since Obama was reelected? Is Obama the cause of these layoffs in the thousands? Which job types are being laid off? After these questions are settled, we'll discuss the stock market dropping 800 points.

That and the fact that our educational system is not what it should be (an average IQ of 70 doesn't help them much either) makes it hard for them to understand !! You can't draw people like this a picture with a crayon and make them understand what the long term effects of odumdumism is going to do to our nation , and EVENTUALLY them !! Jan 12 is when they will be layed off and yes it is a direct result of Obama being re-elected! I was layed off there after he was elected the first time. He is killing our defense and he said himself that was in his plans to continue to do. It has nothing to do with wars. You say thousand have died in wars I was in the army in the 90's and last time I checked it was 100% voluntary and they weren't drafted if they would have been then you would have a good point. When you sign up for the military they inform you when a war starts you could be sent and that you could die, so there not going in blindly or being forced to join. We won't be leaving the Middle East because we will be in Iran before long. Now try to spin it to where Obama isn't causing the stock market to crash. It is his fault hostess is laying off 18,000 and closing there door because of Obamacare not to mention others that are getting laid off. Unemployment claims last week were up 433,000 across the country. That is just one week. Shit is fixing to get real

First, you wrote that RRAD is " laying off thousands"; now you changed your tune and wrote "Jan 12 is when they will be layed off". OKay, so no one has been laid off yet? Now, I asked you for the source of the numbers and you said you were layed (sic) off there 4 years ago. So far, your documentation is not reliable. Get back to me on Jan 13 about these thousands of layoffs. Now, concerning my previous post : it was in the news that a few weeks ago the USA's 1000th death had occurred in Afghanistan (ABC news 5/28/2010). I'm sure the total is now greater than that, which is very sad indeed. It is terrible that our young people were sent to Iraq and Afghanistan for those supposed WMDs and to bring democracy to some. If we cut back on military spending, you should expect layoffs at RRAD. Geez, man, what's wrong with that? Do you want people to stay employed if there's no work for them? Better they find work even if they have to learn a new skill. Defense related industries have good and bad times. Let's bring the troops home and stay out of foreign wars ( said, more or less , by our first President: George Washington). We'll get to the stock market discussion after you grasp the "bring the troops home = smaller defense contracts", okay?
One more thing >> I understood your post but please be able to understand the differences between " there " "they're " and "their". Thank you. Correct English minimizes misunderstandings.

Yes RRAD is laying them off they never lay off right before the holidays. It is fact that they are letting between 2500 and 3000 off they have been told there last day is jan 12th. You must not work. I also see you are avoiding the stock market subject or is that because you don't know what the stock market is and controls

I haven't brought up the stock market yet as we haven't finished with the RRAD layoffs. I gave you a source for the 1000 dead in Afghanistan. I'll look into what the RRAD commander said about the number of layoffs; I'd prefer to not take your word for it. Again, though, it isn't Jan 13.( it's "except" not "accept" ). Then, when we have a number, we will examine the positions and see if Obama is to blame for the loss of those jobs. Does that seem allright with you?

He is the blame he cut defense in his first term and now he is cutting defense for a second time. This time the cuts are doubled. Yes and not one person that has died in Afghanistan was forced to go they signed up willingly. You say we shouldn't even be there but yet they flew into the twin towers and killed thousands of Americans. What should we have done just sat back and said oh well.

To my knowledge, no Afghanis flew any planes into the twin towers. I don't think the Afghan gov't sponsored such acts. Besides, instead of continually dropping bombs on civilians, why doesn't the military go after the guilty parties? Because Afghanistan isn't connected to the attacks. See, it's persons like you that sound an alarm and beat the war drums against innocent people.
Now, so far, I haven't found anything about layoffs at RRAD, but I still have a couple of phone calls to make. I would like to know how you know what the base commander said. I'm not trying to prove you wrong; I'm trying to show you how going off half cocked with misinformation does more harm than good.
If we bring the troops home from Afghanistan, which we should do, then, yes, there will be layoffs at RRAD. We have no business having an armed presence there.

There were 19 hijackers. 15 were from Saudi Arabia. The other 4 were from Egypt and United Arab Emirates. None were from Iraq or Afghanistan thus proving the stupidity of George W. Bush.

Fact: Neither the Afghan gov't nor any afghanis participated in the attacks on the twin towers. Stop with the absurd comments. What meeting were your friends at? You aren't even making sense now. The quality of your English is deteriorating. Bin Laden was not in control of the Afghan gov't.

George W. Bush and his minions lied to get us involved in Iraq, which had nothing to do with 911. Two trillion dollars, 6,000 lives, and 50,000 casualties later and what do we have to show for it? The death of Saddam, who was innocent of any involvement in 911. Yes, Saddam was an asshole but wasn't worth what we lost in killing him. George W Bush should be in prison for what he did.

Agreed. Bush and Cheney are war criminals. Ruck, maybe we should dedicate our time on Topix to correcting false information these locals have. Whaddya think?.........on second thought: nahhhh. I have done this in paltalk and I just repeat myself over and over and those with mistaken ideas refuse to change their minds. To hell with facts; they want to keep their opinions.

I didn't say they were the actual pilots but Ben laden planned it and funded the act. He was over the Taliban and the Taliban was controlling the afghan government. You still haven't told me two good things Obama has done to help this country or the people of this country. The reason is because he hasn't.
