OK Texarkana, what are some new restaurants we need ? I used to think that certain restaurants would never open here, now I'm not sure. With a joint population ( Ark side & Texas side) of nearly 70,000 more companies are thinking about a store in Texarkana.

I think Texarkana has plenty of hamburger restaurants and Texarkana is rapidly getting close to the same for chicken establishments

So go ahead and name your selection or selections.

I think a Cheesecake Factory would go over well in Texarkana.

We need some good family restaurants in Hooks. We've got three fast food places but no sit-down restaurants.

There was that greasy spoon that's shut down during contruction (I would say they're making a claim for loss of business but they had none). I hope they make some good management decisions before they open again. Maybe a better menu. Train their !@#$ staff some service. Or even hygeine. Maybe someone with some energy and vision could buy that place.

It's too bad the property where Ramage Farms stood is up for sale. It'd be nice to see a good steakhouse there. Even better if it was high end enough to become a destination. I used to live in a city where we would drive 40 miles out of town to go to a really good steakhouse. The property was lush with gardens, animal enclosures, and fun for families and groups. People would schedule reunions, proms, and other dinners out there, partly for fun, partly because the food wa so amazing. It'd be nice to see that happen in Bowie County, but nobody has that kind of insight. Without vision, that corner will probably become another gas station. What a shame.

One place that I thought would have already is the Cotton Patch Cafe. They are in most larger East Texas towns.

I'm not all that interested in chain restaurants. I would rather see good Indian, Thai, German, Moroccan, etc. places open.

What keeps TXK going? Travelers. So, if you're a restaurateur, you locate along the Interstate. Don't get elaborate: just a quick tasteless meal will suffice for customers. On the other hand, I've had hundreds of locals tell me that there is nothing to do in this town but go to a movie and eat out. If the food is good, and the atmosphere is pleasing, then I'd expect a return visit. Weighing one against the other, it seems that the only eateries that stay in business that aren't along the Interstate are fast food joints. Remember the great eateries on 7th St many years ago? What happened? Progress. Yeah, progress: crap food along the Interstate.

I agree with you guys, Cheesecake Factory, Panera Bread, Chipotle. I also love Freebird's World Burrito. And I would love a good Pho place!
