Upholdright.....
I do not have issues with real Christians...I only find issues with self righteous haughty pretenders like yourself. You wouldn't know WWJD because you don't know your own Bible. You and the other false Christians on this forum are exactly why those with differing views are repulsed by you....I have lived in many places and only in this region have I found "Christians" like you.....I have many dear Christian friends and family who treat those with opposing views with utmust respect as I do them. Its only jug heads like you who others like myself and true Christians detest because your behavior brings shame to your gods name.

I hate to see "Christians" be so rude and disrespectful. All of us Christians: before speaking your thoughts about unbelievers, sinners, backslider, folks of different beliefs or thoughts or customs, consider this:

The Bible tells us judge not lest ye be judged. The Bible tells us all sins are the same in the eyes of God. And the Bible tells us that without love in our hearts for THE LEAST OF US that all of our other good traits amount to nothing.

Consider Jonah. He didn't like what God wanted him to do: tell the Ninevites that God loved them and wanted to save them but they had to repent or they would be destroyed. In his heart, however, he did not want them to repent. He finally did what God asked after being swallowed by a whale, carried to Ninevah, and spit out. Then he went to the edge of town, basically hoping God would destroy the town. When he did not, he basically threw a tantrum. "But I've been good! I deserve your grace! They just turned good and have done so much bad. They don't!" Stupid Jonah. The Lord had to rebuke him and show him where he was wrong. Don't be stupid Jonah. Be repentant, obedient Jonah. Love those that are lost in our eyes, and pray for their salvation. Don't ask them to leave town and do not be rude or mean or ugly to them. Tell them God's truth and answer their questions with love and sincerity and if the "lost" soul gets ugly, turn the other cheek. But do me a favor, please please do not preach to them and be all self-righteous and then turn around and break several commandments and contradict everything you claim to believe. In my opinion, that makes you a stumbling block to someone else, and I believe God's words are "woe to he who is a stumbling block" or something similar without looking it up to be exact. Self-righteousness is not a virute in God's eyes. Just sayin. You are no better than the people you berate when you act that way.

BTW my husband is an athiest. It is difficult sometimes but we love and respect each other. I pray for him, but don't berate him. He respects me and wouldn't want me to change my beliefs because it makes me who I am, who he loves. He says check out East Texas Athiests on facebook. We are both more on the liberal/progressive side, although I lean more toward the conservative on issues of morality, I lean more towards the liberal on issues of privacy, individuals' rights, taking care of the poor and the hungry, and not taking away the rights God and the Constitution afford to us.

Really now I believe the bible tells us to love the sinner but hate the sin. Who are you to judge me?? You have no core anchor of any faith. Without God's laws establishing right from wrong, this world would be chaos. Who established the 10 commandments upon which our laws were established? Upon what core principles do draw your values? Help me to understand how you live a life containing no grounding!! So, while I do not hate you, I do hope God's word is core for all people before He comes back to reign over mankind.

Ugh--it's generous of you that you don't berate your husband.:-( Did it ever occur to you that it is he who is being generous in not berating you for your religious beliefs?

Let's get all progressives, free thinkers, liberals and other allied types for a BBQ and discuss sending a letter to Obama about firearms. (There; that'll start up a big fight.)

Sorry I hurt your feelings by pointing out that you can't spell the degree that supposedly took you five year to get.
Remember me, Thun Chick? It's really silly for you to decide what my education is. Thing is: you have no idea. You speak from a position of ignorance. You remind me of two ladies on another thread, between them deciding that I'm a Republican, not educated, and other fallacious statements. Let's resurrect the thread. Oh, just one question for you first: are you a christian?

Since: Feb 11

Like my nuts?

Don't think someone speculating about someone else's education level makes them ignorant - no more so than it makes them smart.

He is ignorant of my education, my bio. He should not make presumptions that I'm either educated or not educated.

WE're resurrecting this topic (pun intended) on account of Dangerous Rick Perry and his idea that no one has a right to freedom from religion. I can believe in any god I want to, and I don't believe in forcing beliefs down anyone's throat. Most Christians can't handle that; they demand everyone believe in their murderous god. When will you religious zealots stop berating those who choose to not believe in your god?

"WE're".... meaning who?

There is no freedom from religion, but freedom of religion....you get to choose how ever you want....besides you are the one spewing hatred (again!) for those that believe differently than you ...show a little tolerance once in a while!

You are not required to believe like any other and they are not required to believe like you!

Sorry, chap. For some reason there are a lot of commenters that are very immature. I just ignore those posts. If you scroll back to page 1 and read some of the comments, you will see that some of us have or had been interested in getting together. I'm not sure how much interest there still is, as most of us have been harassed and I was threatened if we had a meeting. Of course, such a meeting would not be open to the general public but only to those who want to discuss issues and not make insults or threats at others. In a metropolitan area of 80,00 people, we ought to be able to find 8 interested people. Just keep checking back.
