I used to have Cableone internet service and it stayed down about half the time. I've had Windstream for probably two years now and I've had no problems whatsoever.

This summer starting in July there have been HUGE problems for customers of their traditional no-contract 5 Mbps service. They appear to be trying to force customers to upgrade to a vastly more expensive 50 Mbps plan bundled with telephone and digital TV AND a 12 month contract. To force customers to do this, they have made their traditional service unusable from 10 am to 10pm. Most of the time the modem won't connect during this prime 12 hour period. When it rarely does connect, it won't stay connected for more than a minute. For this horrible service they still expect their $45 a month.

I would strongly advice avoiding Cable One until the current CEO is replaced due to these unprofessional and crooked business practices. They are actually cheating customers who have been paying for their service for many years.

i hve had internet service through cable one since 2008. at first i had cable tv as well as internet. i never experienced internet service issues while i had cable tv, but THEN i moved and got rid of cable, just keeping internet service. the last 2 places i have lived for the past 2 or 3 yeasS I have had these same internet problems- the modem goes offline around 10 or 11 am and comes back on randomly in the afternoon. Sometimes it doesn't work at night as well. We are currently subscribing to the old 5 mbps service package. i have called multiple times for tech support, had 5 service calls in the last year, and they never fix it. they say the problem is the amplifier being close to us and sending the signal too high. however, they have done nothing to fix it. If they don't resolve this,i will not be subscribing to high speed through cable one, i'll pay for something that actually gives me what I am paying for.

Cable One is the best in the business. Top notch product, top notch service. I called them one Tuesday and they came out the Monday before, that's how fast these guys are. On top of the fastest internet service known to Texarkana my bill drops a little every month. They are and always have been the phenom of television in T-Town.

Agree 100%. We had the same experience and also switched to Windstream in 2011 and have had one outage. We pay an extra $ 5 to get 12Mbps download speed.

Just the opposite for me, after getting tired of Windstream's horrible service I switched back to Cableone's 50mbps plan and it has been flawless for me for more than a year now.
