This revisionist history is disingenuous to say the least.
Kennedy first proposed the legislation. A Democrat brought it to the floor. LBJ made it happen.
A majority in both parties voted for it. The Southern Democrats were bigots and fought against it. These ignorant racists are who LBJ was referring to when he said the Civil Rights Act lost them the South for generations. The Democratic bigots became Reagan Republicans in the next decade.
The 1964 Republican nominee Barry Goldwater opposed the bill. Even today, Teabagger politicians like Rand Paul and others say the Civil Rights Act was a mistake.
So, Yes, I credit the Democrats for its passage.
This is correct.

Y'all just remember... Democrats are for the individual and controlling the individual, Republicans are for the Republic and keeping the individual free.

If you want to look after yourself, get free things and be controlled vote Democrat... if you want to look after your country, and retain your liberty vote Republican.

The Republican party was established to free the slaves.

Obviously they are tired of being free and want to be slaves again... except this time the chains will be for all of us.

You can't see them, but Obama is steadily adding them link by link.

More of the same bulls--t. Neither party is for us. Then again have you ever heard the term Solid South? Democrats lean toward Socialism, Republicans lean toward Plurocracy, and niether favor the middle class. So Fed just pack it on back to La Porte, and if you learn to act real nice maybe they won't run you out this time.

More and more govts use fear to take more and more rights from their citizenry.Gov , Perry says, address the mental health issue, while slashing mental health care budgets to the bone. With the emerging new technologies, we can be tracked and monitored for any"deviant"behavior .The"mental"health police will have informers everywhere, say anything a little"suspicious"th ey come and drag you off in the night, to"protect"the kids, and everyone else.More fees, taxes, laws, regulations, all designed to keep us"safe".RIGHTS?? we don't need no stinking rights....right???

BOTH parties are part of the problem, but there are far more freedom fighters and defenders of liberty in the Republican party.

Except the Republican party has been repeatedly screwed over by the Establishment by them backing ringer candidates picked to lose.

Many Republicans refused to vote for Romney... which is exactly why he was chosen over Ron Paul.

Ron Paul would have united the Right... and much of the Left... and lots of the in-betweeners.

That would have been the end of the Establishment and their control over us.

They could not have that.

So Ron Paul was sabotaged and ignored at every convenient opportunity.

The people lost there.

Ron Paul was hardly ignored. He wasn't sabotaged. He was included in the debates. He had an extraordinary organization and his followers were enthusiastic and idealistic.

The simple truth is that his ideas don't appeal to a broad segment of the population.

You're wrong.

I was part of the team that sabotaged him when he ran for president in 2008.

I've been a part of the cloak and dagger world that is our Establishment controlled government.

That's why I oppose them so now.

Allegations of racism are not acts of sabotage in a Republican primary.

Now do you people understand why I have a problem with Heavy Fed? He claims to have been part of a team sent out by the ESTABLISHMENT to sabatoge Ron Paul, but has since seen the error of his ways and now works tirelessly to save us all. The guy is dillusional. Off his meds or a habitual liar, you choose. Cloak and dagger my a$$, just another false prophet with an over inflated ego wanting to be more than the pathetic looser that he is. Damn Fed did your mother have any childern that lived?

Allegations of racism increase his vote totals in a Republican primary. You know that. You weren't trying to sabotage him.

Explain ESTABLISHMENT! Actually tell us which ESTABLISHMENT. Republican, Democrat, Independant, Tea Party, Media, Corperate; exactly which ESTABLISHMENT are you talking about? And of course he wasn't trying to sabotage him, it's only the voices in his head that tell him that. He needs to get back on his meds or go back to the padded room.
