No, there was an after party and there was teachers there but they weren't giving alcohol to the kids. The parents may have had alcohol because they are adults and the law allows them to, but the kids were not given any alcohol. An over-protective parent saw someone with a beer and assumed it was a child. No arrests were made because nothing happend!

My child was at the party and out of 40+ kids there is going to be a bad decision made which some kids had alcohol in their vehicle. Under no circumstances did the parent or other teachers there know this. One student who showed up that wasnt invited sat on his tailgate and drank a beer. An adult approached the student and told him to pour the beer out and leave and he complied. The person who called the police actually did the teacher a favor because the police officer observed and noted he saw no evidence of alcohol or any behavior that would be suspicious of drinking. If you are shocked by this event, you should be in the halls of the school where there are tons of teachers/principals and drugs & alcohol are still "consumed" without adults knowing! Quit being so self righteous & ignorant. Make sure you know the facts before you start allegations that could cause someone their job or career.

It amazes me how much time people have on their hands. The teacher in question was acting in the capacity of a parent the night of homecoming. My child and other classmates were to this get together. No one was invited that should've had alcohol. Students may have shown up with alcohol, but according to my child no one was blatantly drinking in front of the adults present. And there were certainly no adults who were providing students with the alcohol. That is a ridiculous accusation! My child has been at the teacher's house before and there has never been anything inappropriate going on. As the above poster said, these random and unfounded accusations are hurtful.

Thanks for the clarification. It's nice to know it was all just bad rumors. The sad thing is it is easy to believe with the drug and alcohol problem at pg. Too many backs get turned or eyes look away.

It seems the more blacks move in thanks to HUD the worse the school gets. Before long it will be another Texas High! It's really sad to see such a great neighborhood go down so fast.

Someone always has to turn this into something racial. Welcome to the real world. There are people other than "whites" in this world, and they are not to blame for all of the evils of the world. I am sure that there were students who experimented with drugs and alcohol in Pleasant Grove, along with the rest of the world, before HUD moved the "blacks" in. What is wrong with Texas High? I am sure if you look hard enough you can find an all-white school where the students never experiment with drugs or alcohol.

And someone that doesn't live here much less PG always has to pull the race card. Call it whatever you want but the truth is the truth. Whats wrong with Texas High??? Are you kidding, Aw that's right you don't live here. And thanks for your input but I have already found a drug free ALL WHITE school several years ago! As did a lot of other parents, i believe the Texarkana Gazette called it White flight! Unfortunately along with all the black families moving in on the south side of Moores lane there seems to be an increasing amount of black kids breaking into homes in our area.....But i guess to you thats racist too!

First teacher bashing, now racial bashing! The first group deserves respect based upon their contribution to society; the second group deserves respect based upon all the obstacles that must be overcome to live a productive life. It is so unfair to stereotype. Keep in mind our President is black; a highly qualified and well-educated individual. A future Ptesident might be in that group you are condemning so unfairly...

I have lived in Texarkana for over 30 years. When was Pleasant Grove or any other school in Texarkana drug free?

Your having a hard time with this for some reason. Pleasant Grove school and neighborhood has NEVER been this bad? When ghetto blacks move into any area that area suffers and this is just a fact. You pretending to be ignorant of this is a little strange.

Yes. I do have a hard time with bigotry. This thread was about some kids drinking at a homecoming party. There was no mention of race in any of the previous postings. Then, you had to start the "black" stereotyping.

It is what it is Ginger from Plano Texas! You should check out the Texarkana news and crime reports from time to time ,nothing but black faces, and a LOT of them! Are they "stereotyping" ? Are they just picking on the poor "black people"? No ,The amount of blacks moving into this area and the high rise in crime are directly related so you can get off your high horse and quit your condescending attitude! It's pretty clear the problem here isn't affecting you there! Where ever that may be.
