It was about banning sugary drinks sold in over 16 ounce containers. Then again, people would just buy lots of 12 oz cans probably. Yes it was a little extreme but healthy eating is not a fad anymore, it's becoming the norm. Yes, restricting salt and sugar is preposterous but he's not arrogant, just extreme. Plus with all that good food NYC, it would kill the culinary delight!

if people can't make good decisions by themselves, regulations need to be put into place . Just like with anything else such as, medicines, speeding , preventing diabetes by changing eating habits, etc..

Hmmm....then I suppose you would have no issues with the government deciding to enforce the Ten Commandments since those "regulations" were also issued because people couldn't make good decisions by themselves.

That is their choice NOT yours to make for them!!!!

I CANNOT believe how many of you disregard freedom! Part of freedom is facing the consequences even if means being fat and unhealthy.

Who gets to decides? Smoking is unhealthy it should be illegal, make all junk food illegal?....shut down a business that sells junk food, shut down resturants that serve unhealthy food.... It's crazy while some states are making illegal drugs legal it illegal for some places to drink a large coke. Crazy times!

not attacking here because I agree somewhat but gorging yourself into a coronary blockage isn't freedom. In that case, legalize heroin. See what I mean? The consequence is inflated prices for medical care that we ALL ultimately pay for. I don't want that. I'd rather have healthy people with low health issues so it's better for all if us.
