Looks like the old county market store on Jefferson rd on the ark. side finally caught the eyes of some investors. Columbia group has apparently bought the property with plans of turning it into a mix of retail/restaurant/ and business center. Glad to see the ole buildings future is looking bright.

Looks like all the rats that live there are going to have to find a new home.

Hope someone finally puts in a good seafood place. Texarkana is severly lacking in that department.

I agree. Another seafood place besides red lobster would be nice.

I doubt that a new seafood place will be going in there. Probably a nail place, maybe a small fly by night church, or a donut store but that's about it.

I'm sure you're right OVG, but one can hope. :)

Yep, one can hope but one also has to remain optimistic. The good stuff always seems to be built on the Texas side unless you call CVS and Dollar Tree good stuff.

what about copeland's? that was built on AR side and is pretty nice. i get your point though, AR usually gets the restaurant/retail SHAFT!

Well, I never said that nothing decent ever gets built on the Arkansas side. In addition to Copeland's, which I've never been to, they are building a new Amigo Juan's next door, so that's a plus, I guess. I've only been to Amigo Juan's once when they had the location off Summerhill Road. The food wasn't that great and the service was pathetic. The waitress took our order and we never saw her again. I had to get up and refill our sauce and our water glasses myself so a new Amigo Juan's doesn't excite me very much.

i'm confused.. first you say amigo juan's is a 'plus', then go on to say it doesn't excite you very much. can't decide?

I said it's a plus for the Arkansas side, you know economically. For me personally, I could care less. I hope that cleared up the confusion for you.

I heard that Red Lobster is going to leave Texarkana and open a store in Fouke.

Copeland's is pretty good for seafood. Also Osaka and Fuji Kim's, which offer sushi, do good cooked fish too. No popcorn shrimp tho so if you really do like Red Lobster these will probably be way too good for your tastes.

I heard Copeland's was a little pricey but I guess if the food is good it's worth it.

Copeland's is hit and miss. Ole Al wouldn't be too proud.

Copelands was awful the one time I visited there. Nothing authentic New Orleans about it. Over-priced and just plain bad. Haven't tried Osaka and Fuji Kims, but thanks for the information Spaces.

I try to stay away from any restaurant on the Arkansas side because the taxes are higher than they are on the Texas side.
