Carlow conceded. Texarkana Gazette called and got their vote from Lavender. Brice is our next treasurer. Natalie won!
Now we just need to know two things:
When and where are the swearing ins!
I promise to hold these newly elected individuals accountable for their conduct in office. They made us promises. I intend to make sure they keep them.

Clean Sweep for the Patriots on the Texas side.
Miller Co. Patriots did well too. They took the Senators race, the County Judge, and the Mayor.
Congrats to all the winners, and thanks to all who worked so hard to get them in.

This from Carlows for Judge Facebook page:

James Carlow for Bowie County Judge: "I am honored and humbled to have served Bowie County. I want to thank all my supporters and offer my congratulations to Judge-elect Lacy. May God Bless our County, our Country and all of you."

and this from Lacy's:
"Sterling E Lacy ‎52% of the voters gave me a vicorty. Now my job is to represent 100% of our citizens. I did receive a very gracious concession call from outgoing Judge Carlow. I thanked him for a clean campaign. This victory was a team effort over almost 11 months of time. Thanks to everyone who helped in any way. Thanks to the ...hundreds who commited to pray for my campaign. Now I need all of you and many more to accept the task of sustaining me in prayer for the next 4 years of civil service. According to Romans 13 God created civil government to protect those who do good and avenge those who practice evil. God has just graduated me from one ministry, counseling, to another ministry, governing. Thanks again!"

Way to go Patriots!

I find it quiet disturbing that everyone is so proud of the patriots victory. After going to all the local political functions and listening to all candidates speak, it seems to me that all they offered was CHANGE. America now sees just where CHANGE got them two years ago. Now don't get me wrong I'm just as against Obama as anyone else is but surely Bowie county as a whole is not so ignorant to believe that voting out all the incumbants will actually change anything on a national level. We just lost alot of power and experience in Bowie county to what, promised change? I sure it works out better for you this time around.

Then there is much to tell! Much evil in our local government to avenge!

It will. For the first time in Bowie County history, we had a choice in County Judge. He wasn't hand picked by some old boy's network and run in an unopposed race.

People got the chance to really decide for themselves what they want.

As a TEA partier, I will tell you I'll still hold my elected officials accountable for their behavior in office. That office belongs to us the taxpayers, not the one we hired. And if they don't do a competent job, we can fire them, too.

I have high expectations for all 4 of our newly elected. I expect them to deliver what they promised.

Obama did give us change. He's been the best thing going for the Republican Party. People bought into his lies and had no idea what he was really about. Now they're seeing what that man is truly capable of, and they don't like it. Just like you can't spend yourself out of debt, our government can't spend its way out of debt either. We need fiscal responsibility, not an elite club stealing us blind.

One of Lavender's promises was to take care of Marvin Nichols. If that water reservoir is built, Bowie County will lose major industries. Frost even admitted he had an opportunity to quash it and didn't. Frost also has been opposed to voter ID. Why? We have to have one anyway. I used my driver's license to vote last night. Is it really such an issue? Apparently it was for Frost.

Velma Moore has not moved our clerk's office forward in 12 years. Technology has improved a lot since then, and we need to keep that office current and also abide by the laws of the state. Over the past few years, we've really gotten to know Velma's incompetence and are sadly disappointed. We deserve better, and I expect Natalie to provide it.

I don't know as much about Brice except that he has run the cleanest campaign I've seen in a long time. He said from the beginning that he wasn't going to say anything bad about Donna Burns and he held fast to that promise, even as I spoke to him last night. He's very qualified to be a treasurer, especially with his banking background. This is a man of impeccable integrity, and I admire him greatly. Again, I fully believe he will hold to his campaign promises. And I will be following his role in the county to ensure that happens.

Yes, patriots want change. They have been fighting for it for more than just one campaign. They want a two-party system in this county, and choices for voters to decide what they want. They want a government (local, state and federal) that is accessible and honest. They want you the voter to have more of a role than just on election day.

Please spend this next term following their decisions. Speak up on important issues to you. This will become easier over the next few months and years as contact information and meeting agendas become available online. Lacy and Nichols promised us that they would turn our C-(actually F after the last grading in the Sunshine Review) into an A+. We need to help them do this. We can't let them forget.

This is OUR COUNTY and we deserve to be represented.
