Brothers plead guilty to sexual assault

Brothers Aaron and Charles Johnson pleaded guilty Monday morning to sexually assaulting a 12-year-old girl at an after-prom party in 2004.

“It was a plea bargain situation where we got a lot of what we wanted and the defense got some of what they wanted,” said Bowie County District Attorney Bobby Lockhart.“Both of them are going to TDC.”

Aaron Johnson, who was 27 when the assault occurred in a Texas-side motel room in the early morning hours of May 23, 2004, was sentenced to serve eight years in a Texas prison by Bowie County District Judge Leon F. Pesek, Jr. He must complete one half of his sentence before becoming parole eligible. Texarkana lawyer Jeff Harrelson represented Aaron Johnson.

Charles Johnson, who was 18 when the rape occurred, pleaded guilty and received a 10-year sentence. But Lockhart told the court his office would not oppose a term of “shock” probation. If Charles Johnson is “shocked” he will be brought back to Pesek’s court in roughly six months for another hearing. If his behavior is good while in the Texas Department of Criminal Justice, he will be placed on 10 years’ and released.

I don't think it was all their fault. Where were the parents. How com the Collins boy get off. Aaron had a great career. It was thrown away in behind foolish. The parents need to keep tabs on their children. First of all, a twelve year old should not be out that time of night. Lets here the real story. I think the should be punished. But if Collins get a slap on the wrist because he is a football player, why not the others. Like I said Aaron has a great career.
