I would like to know how the rider of the truck was able to know the speed of the motorcycle. I didn't realize that the riders on the trash truck carried a radar gun. No matter how fast the motorcycle was going or who is at fault all that are involved and affect and in need of our prayers. Please start to pray for the people involved and stop trying to place the blame. None of these details matter compared to the health of the young man fighting for his life. And he is still fighting. And we should all still be praying. Keep the faith. With God all things are possible.

I am aware of the time and distance it takes for large trucks to stop. My daughter used to work for a small construction co. in the office but once in a while she got called on to drive a work truck to a site.( She had her CDL) She would come home muttering about the idiots who seem to think a very large truckl should be able to stop like a car.

My husband is a driver with the trash truck company involved in the accident. He spoke to the laborer who was riding on the truck and he said that the truck pulled out and the motorcycle flew up the street doing 80 mph. The truck driver had no where to go. It is very sad and unfortunate and believe me, it's something all these guys dread and try to avoid. The driver has many years of driving experience and from what I'm told, a clean driving record. Please do not label all the drivers as reckless and irresponsible. My husband is a very cautious driver. Those trucks do not stop on a dime and I see people pull short in front of them all the time. It is always, unfortunately going to be found the truck drivers' fault, even when it's not. My prayers go out to the man on the motorcycle and especially the driver of the truck, who although probably was not at fault, will have to live with being involved for the rest of his life. So sad.

The trash truck driver was turning off of bridge street on to shawsheen and the motorcycle was going straight and he ended up trying to stop and skidding right in to the truck. It's so unbelievably sad.
I found out last night that the driver didn't make it =(

Wow with some of the banter back and forth you would think that some of the people were actually there! The driver was a very close friend of mine, and a VERY responsible driver and a great man, I sincerely hope that everyone that has made negative comments never has to go through what all of us have gone through.

Very sad. One of the drivers had to have screwed up.

If it had to be a motorcycle let us hope it was one of the loud ones.

When you see there is a motorcycle accident, do yourself a favor, and don't look.

My mother and sister saw the motorcyclist lying on the ground suffering head trauma and cardiac arrest. They watched the Mass. State trooper begin CPR on the biker. There were other bikers who happened upon the scene who also stopped to aid the officer. One biker directed traffic. The entire Police, Fire, and EMS showed up at the seen. They flew him by chopper to Boston. I hope he made it. My heart goes out to him and his family.
