Your comment states...Missionary,Student, Felon! Remember too that they are also son's and brothers that are loved. They have made a terrible mistake in judgement, yes. Restitution will surely be made. Pray hard for these young men and their family. To have a child in this kind of trouble is hell on earth. I know first hand as I'm the mother of a young daughter serving time for the same offense. Be kind, it can happen to any of us.

add to thier list the sons of a recently released stake president and grandsons of the current stake patriarch. Ouch! It's causing quite a stir. Not a huge surprise. Tyler "Rex", has always been quite full of himself, very cocky, and too cool for just about everyone else. I've been robbed before too, and I know how much that sucks. I feel bad for thier family, thier father especially, a good man will feel guilty. Thier mother's been crushed by it all. So selfish of them. They could have made good money doing honest work, but instead decided to take what others had worked hard for. They will have plenty of time to suffer in prison though.

We had a wonderful family here whose son got involved in identity theft. Things like this start out with "little" things like copying software or music for your friends in violation of copyrights. Very easy to do... doesn't seem to hurt anyone. But you get used to selfishly doing something illegal. Parents need to monitor kids and crack down on these little illegal violations because they will lead to larger and larger crimes.

Knowing this family and the boys for many years I can honestly say that even 'good kids' sometimes choose the wrong path. Temptation is out there for all of us and i have seen many of my students go down the road that noone would expect from them. Please do not try to label the type of child who would do this. You would be wrong. Many of us have been victim of theft or scams i don't make light of the situation. But I commend the family and the boys for admitting the wrong and not trying to escape their punishment by using excuses or blaming others. I pray that they are young enough to right the wrong and turn their lives around. I would be willing to stand by and trust these young men after time served---

Hey "from Springfield, MO" it takes a big person to make statements about how Rex has always acted without revealing your name. Perhaps your statements about how Rex has "always" been would be more credible if you told everyone who you are and how it is that you know him so well.

How then do you account for peole who have changed their lives wether from commiting crimes to not or from not to commiting crimes? Either way is a change. If you can change one way why not another? What about my Father in Law who was an Alcoholic to not Drinking?

Good for your father in law. Temptation is hard to overcome. That disease is terrible.

Yes, just as I changed from singing Saturday is a special day, it's the day we get ready for Sunday and I Am a Child of God in primary to being a blatant ex-LDS jerk.

The comments that "From Springfield, MO" made criticizing how Rex has "always been" made me laugh. Anyone who knows Rex knows that is not true. Rex and his brother feel an incredible amount of remorse and shame at what they did and have every desire to make things right. If we all made similar efforts to correct the mistakes we made, then we wouldn't have much to worry about.

I am a victim of these young thugs. I have heard or seen no remorse or restitution. Not only did they shatter my widow, steal hundreds of dollars worth of valueables and ruin a seat in my vechicle they shattered the memory of a once in a lifetime trip to yellowstone for myself and three young sons. The youngest is getting away with it. What will that teach him?

If they are so outstanding, then why did they do the crime???? Didn't thier bishop pa enough attention to them, or didn;t he care enough. If ou don't want to do the time, don't do the crime.

Yes and Warren Jeffs thinks being jailed makes him more like Joseph Smith and that he too will be martyred. Only problem. Joseph Smith was not a martyr in the true sense.
They better watch Jeffs. That probably means he is going to try to get a smuggled weapon in, take out a few people to be like Joseph Smith.
