In 1952 President Truman established one day a year as a National Day of Prayer.

In 1988, President Reagan designated the first Thursday in May of each year as the National Day of Prayer.

In June 2007,(then) Presidential candidate Barack Obama declared that the USA was no long...er a Christian nation.

In 2009 President Obama, canceled the 21st annual National Day of Prayer ceremony at the White House under the ruse of "not wanting to offend anyone"

On September 25, 2009 from 4 am until 7 PM, a National Day of Prayer for the Muslim religion was held on Capitol Hill, beside the White House. There were over 50,000 Muslims that day in DC.

I guess it doesn't matter if "Christians" are offended by this event - we obviously don't count as "anyone" anymore.

The direction this country is headed should strike fear in the heart of every Christian. Especially knowing that the Muslim religion believes that if Christians cannot be converted they should be annnihilated

This is not a rumor - Go to the website to confirm this info: http://WWW.islamoncapitolhill.Com/

ANY Religion should strike fear in the heart of every human being, because thats what religions "control" over people is: FEAR.
Can you imagine the world without religious bullshit holding back science and progress? Christians burned folks for thinking the earth wasn't flat, or for thinking anything other than fairytails from a man made book..
As an AMERICAN VET, I can only see the damage the church has done to countless peoples around the world, and no, I'm not talking about charity, charity is a good thing, charity isn't owned by any organization.
If you put yourself in Jesus' sandals, don't you think what mankind has done in his name is alot of murder and genocide. I hope his ghost does come back to say, "Whats with all the blood on my hands, it wasn't there when I died!" Thank your organization for trumping up charges on it's own deity, just to save your own human face. How dare all of you!!!

This is wierd.
An obvious Christian apologist logs in as Lucifer in order to make a typically phony Christian apologist's point and confuses everybody
so bad the comment thread dies in it's tracks.
Interesting.. mc, retired pcusa rev. researching atheism.

Evil will always exist whether there are organized religions or not. If people of faith or religion struggle against it what makes you think evil will disappear when it has no restrictive force?

There is no such thing a evil in the purest sense. It's a concept created by man and therefore is defined by man. Name one thing in nature that is truly evil, you can't. Things simply exist, it is up to each individual to assign it value.

Nope, even with judicial laws and religious restrictions MAN cannot resist the temptation to do wrong. Evil in its pure form is not a horned devil. It is every man who harms another.

Wrong, your own words make my point. Judicial and religious restrictions as you put it are man made concepts. There is no true good, no true evil. Like I said everything simply exists and we put definition to them. Simply because you and a majority say harming someone else is evil doesn't make it any more true than someone who doesn't view it as so. Make no mistake I view it as wrong but only because I was brought up to believe so, I recognize that values are constructs of man, often a society.

It's true the view we have of what is right and wrong is based on man made concepts and some cultures differ on it. By your definition if a cave man parent unexposed to those concepts vents his/her anger on their offspring and kills it, it isn't evil?
Evil exists in nature, it is only defined by man.

No it doesn't, it's only evil because we feel so. Provide actual factual backing that what the cave man did in your hypothetical is evil. You can argue that eliminating his offspring lessens his chance of continuing his line or to something of that nature but there is no true evil or good, only how we view it does it become that way to us.

Alright, I'll change the wording a little. What if instead of murdering his offspring, the caveman stuck his pecker up his little boy's ass? That's evil right there, I don't care who ya are.

I'm done. Obviously trying to explain the concept of man made ideas based solely on opinions and feelings is a lost cause.

Man made concepts are apparent. Evil,(not a devil" figure) is alive and well in humans because it is in our nature.
