I would like to start by saying that the video that we had to watch recently was very informative. It explained that the Department of Corrections custody staff had in recent years gotten larger pay increases than others in the department. What it neglected to explain was that these raises were to compensate for being the ones that had urine and feces thrown on us, for being the ones that were assaulted, and were injured trying to protect inmates from themselves and others. It went on to explain that by adjusting the payroll policies, that custody staff would be taking a 3% pay cut.
I don’t mind doing my part to help keep the state solvent, but I would like to know why the Councilors, Casework Managers, Administration and Central Office staff are not also taking an equal cut?

Because custody is looked at like it is the bottom of the food chain. People do not care or worry about what they do not see. When is the last time Daniels stepped foot in a housing unit? No one who works in a jail or prison is compensated fairly, not even in the ballpark. Don't blame you for being pissed.

Daily Horoscope for December 15

Sagittarius

A little tact goes a long way today, enabling you to navigate your way through what has the potential to be a tricky situation. Luckily, things will work out well and you'll be pleased with the way you handled everything. If you're talking to a neighbor or close relative, beware of raising their hopes about something if you already know that it won't be happening.
