After the quality presentation last night, the impact of swimming in Vigo County should be obvious. Anyone not in favor of a new facility (especially the one proposed by the Vigo County Council) is clearly not in favor of the continued growth of the community. Those against any swimming venue are blind and will only drag us further into the hell hole of stagnation that we are currently attempting to climb out of.
You have obvious tunnel vision. The impact on the economy will be minimal.

A couple of swim meets a year? Ya serious?

The money for education should be used to deliver first class education which will attract business. Let the county build the pool for all to use.

Pay my good sized tax bill, employ some people, use my own money and not other peoples. Yep worked hard to join the elite. Did not feel the need to stick my hand out for big time welfare like this project is.

It is painful how oblivious you are to facts. The majority of those people who care one way or the other attended last night's meeting. The majority showed FAVOR for a new facility (and personally, I think the Vigo County Council's plan would be a phenomenal option for our community). I don't care what your beef is with welfare...this is not REAL welfare. The tax implications were explained clearly...you will not be paying anything extra, so get off your soap box and get back to running your so-called "business".

Why is this conversation still going? If rollover and everyone else opposing it didn't voice their concerns last night, then case closed. Move on because there was no clear evidence for why it shouldn't be built. This website won't convince people because the important people making the decisions won't read these posts. Last night was YOUR opportunity and you failed to present a good case. When will the new pool complex be built and where?

Why was the County's proposal not highlighted in the main article about the pool situation? I'm not sure it's the way to go just yet, but definitely worthy of looking into. Perhaps a win-win situation yet seemed like it was an afterthought.

What you're attempting to do is comparable to walking into the movie theatre and demanding to change the movie selection. Taxpayers are at their limit before we collapse. What will you and others like you do in 10 years when the bulk of taxpayers are retired and moved to retirement areas?
I do not think they understand as the benefit from but probably pay little or no tax. Very tunnel visioned.

The county proposal is most likely to be accepted by the public imo. Show a benefit for a large number of people. It would be wonderful for the citizens of the county

Rollerover.. Was you the old guy that spoke last night at the meeting that said blah blah I learned how to swim in a fishing pond blah blah blah. Did you actually listen to the presentation? Did you understand what the process is? Even those opposed liked the presentation and said it cleared up some questions, but just thought it was a bad idea just because. If they would have went in with an open mind, they may have been in favor of it before they left. I really wish you would have gave everyone your reasons and stats and maybe you would have had more on your side. But no one will ever know now.

This isn't over yet. Too many taxpayers and civic leaders are concerned about how this is going to be paid for and where it will stand in 5 years and again in 10 years.
Tanoos, I told you before if you want to be the head macho man you need to open your bank account and pull the money out. Funny how this looks a little less "sure thing" when it's your money.

Funny...I clearly remember typing:
"(and personally, I think the Vigo County Council's plan would be a phenomenal option for our community)."

Bet you anything a swimmer would've read that just fine...are you done embarrassing yourself yet?

Apparently you're not done embarrassing yourself.

As discussed IN THE MEETING LAST NIGHT, funding for operations will come out of the existing funds for the operation of the 3 current pools...there will be no additional staff and 2 less pools, so as a result there are MORE FUNDS FOR ONE POOL.

Put down your Busch Light and use your spell checker. It's obvious that you excelled at neither athletics nor academics.

Even you using the term "bath caps" proves that you have no idea what you're talking about. Like clueless and Love it previously said: you lost your chance to share your understanding of the situation and how you think it will negatively affect our community. Why bother to argue any further when you denied the opportunity to actively participate at the public meeting?

Who cares about the meeting? You actually think all you little lackluster TNT chippies did anything. The real deals are made fair from the microhone.
