It's hard to say, because NONE of them can play any decent modern country, but oh sure, you'll hear your granddads top 40 every time. They all suck in this town. The ROCK bands play country better than the country bands could ever pretend to play.

That's no big deal as there's no such thing as 'decent modern country' anyway.

The Midwest Playboys play quite a few of the old classics pretty well.

Yeah, but they are old classics. If those grandpas cant figure out the chords to the same old songs they've been attempting to play for 20 years, they should just give up. thats why they don't do new music, they still struggle figuring out the old stuff!!

If it ain't a 3 chord classic, most country bands around here don't play it. Try an intricate bridge and they're lost. There certainly aren't any Brad Paisley wannabes in the country genre in this town. The Mark Cooks and other good guitarists just don't play country. JT Cooprider is the rare exception, and he's in Nashville, not Terrible Haute.

You're right. If it's not an easy, easy, piece of music, these so called country guys can't handle it. LOL, I've friends in the Hall of Fame and they are embarrassed by some of the "musicians" that are members from way back, when all you had to do was say you played music and filled a barstool. Seriously, if you look at the bands in this area, rockers are really the only ones entertaining anyone. Country bands are lame, boring, and untalented in the Terre Haute area, which is weird, because you'd think the area would be full of rednecks, instead of just a handful who own guitars they can't tune without asking for help.

Are you serious. All the bands in Terre Huate suck big time. That is why I travel to Indy for live entertainment. They are very poor musicians and suck at entertaining. GO INDY.

Of course I meant JT Corenflos, I've just got a slight case of Alzheimer's. He has come in second to Mack MacAnally two or three times for guitarist of the year, and MM is truly amazing also. Saw him sitting in with Zac Brown Band and Jimmy Buffet last night on Palladia.

I'd have to say that 'The 7th Street Cheswicks' are the best country band in TH and #2 in the Wabash Valley.

Obviously, this is the best country song about Terre Haute:

Was it Sons of the South that Matt Robinson played guitar for? He's a very good guitarist.
