I guess "yep" summed it up. And we all can't live in a subdivision. I would love to live in a good neighborhood. But where I am staying was cheap and nice at the time. Its close to my school Isu and close to stores. But as soon as my lease is up I will be moving no doubt about it. I would rather put more money into a nicer neighborhood than cheaply live here. Thanks for all your input. And I just hope some of these half time parents put the drugs and alcohol down and raise their bad children with some morals before they are all in prison (black or white) this was in no way meant to be racist. I have just seen in my part of the avenues the black children acting bad. Children are children and without proper guidance what more can we expect?

It's sad to see some of the blatantly racism displayed on this board. Shame on any of you who call black kids "scum of the Earth"....who say you should just run them over or kill them. Seriously!? You need to check yourselves, ESPECIALLY if you have the audacity to call yourself a Christian. With that said...

It does sound like an issue that needs to be addressed. I grew up on 23rd and Liberty Ave. I know exactly what you all are talking about, and it does need to be addressed, but the commentary in this post is NOT how to handle it. Please know YOU are just as responsible as the people you call "scum". If you were to talk to me like that, and give me that kind of energy when I was a youth living there, I'd be more likely to behave just as you state they do now.

To any parents of youth who are looked at this way, SHAME on you. Where is the mothering and fathering that is needed!? Seriously, I grew up in a single parent home, and there is still no excuse for this behavior. Check your children!!!! Mother's, it's easy to blame the fathers for not being there. But you still have to be a parent to your child. Raise them right! I don't care what rave, nationality, or creed you are....BE A PARENT AND STOP BEING THEIR FRIENDS!!!

Don't be surprised when you read these comments from racists who have nothing better to do...instead, raise your child like a good parent is supposed to!!!

You said all you needed in the first few lines....living somewhere cheaply. I now live in Atlanta, GA, right downtown, in a highrise condo. Concierge and the whole 9. I could pay to live somewhere else for less money, but guess what....ding ding ding...it wouldn't be as safe. Fact is, you get what you pay for. Not saying what you are seeing is right, because it's not. Parents have to do better. But always keep in mind, you get what you pay for. You live "cheap" in sketchy places, you'll be around sketchy people. That's life in America. Everywhere....so I would change your location. Plus, you're near a campus, which is doubly as bad.

This topic is why I enjoy living in the country. I grew up near Sugar Grove Elementary. Back in the 60s, kids rode bikes everywhere. I rode all over Terre Haute, but my parents gave me one stipulation... never ride north of Wabash.

When I was a child, im talking 40 years ago, I lived in the Folks drive projects.
When one of us kids did something wrong, we got our ass busted, and hauled home by the Mom that did it, only to get our ass busted again by our own Mom for misbehaving.
Now days, if a Mom where to do that, there would be a brawl in the streets between the Moms, because nobodys child does wrong to hear them tell it.
They used to say it takes a village to raise a child, now days, the child raises hell in the village, and the villagers cant do a thing about it.

These kids have no control measures on them. Hopeless little thugs need an adult by them 24/7. Or throw the little APES in a zoo and pay to see them off themselves.

It's not just blacks and I didn't mean to imply that it's all races of worthless irrelevant people. I wouldn't want to live near the white trash crackheads or go around them either. The quicker all such losers kill each other or themselves the better the world will be. Meanwhile sit in your subdivisions and let them stew in the worthless life they lead. Buy ammo and protect you and yours. All they will breed is more oxygen thieves. As long as I'm comfortable who cares how they live their own life choices is what keeps them there. And I will lead my life with no care of how such scum lives or be any where near them.

Its quite amazing how when something is not going by a person/persons standards, morals or beliefs-the first thing out that person/persons mouth is color of the skin. Ignorance will always be around, I've read probably only two statements that made sense.
1). Parents not raising their children accurately
A). Yes parenting didn't come with a manual
2). You get what you pay for
I don't feel that stating my skin color is important, but I also know where I want to live, how I want to live. So if that means I have to work 12-16hrs, that's what I am going to do. Which is why I can walk down my neighborhood and not worry about, eggings, car getting broke into, etc.
The kids on my block being black and white have respect for their neighbors and their surroundings. So no its not the color of the skin, its how they are being raised!
Mind you I have kids of a certain color and of a mixed culture and they are just fine!
