Has anyone dealt with any Slum-Lords in Terre Haute lately? I have and I am just curious as to if anyone else has had this problem.

Renea and mike armstrong! never move to clayton courts they will take your deposit even if nothing is wrong with your apt. They never fix anything and move in a bunch of drunks

I second this...and have first hand experience..lthey are sneaky...they have the cover of a legit business but they are shady and rent dumps...and couldn't care less about tenants, just the rent check.

That is why you need to try to purchase a home if you can afford it. I know that this is not possible on some budgets.

Within 45 days of moving out of your residence. The landlord has to send you an itemized list of what your deposit was used to fix, if anything. If they do not they must return your deposit despite any damages done to the property. It is wise to send them a registered letter with signature required of your forwarding address, this way you have proof. It is well worth the small amount to get your deposit back. If you do have to take them to small claims, write in plus court cost. That way you also get that back. It is in the Indiana code of statutes.

I had the same problem some years back. I did get my deposit back with the threat of court. Also any safety issues in the home that they were well aware of but did not fix.

I've rented from Keven Mayes and Cy Marlow. Both are slum lords kevin wouldnt get our furnace fixed during the middle of winter and at the time my kids were ages 1 and 3. Cy marlow is even worse he sends some guy named Keit to fix things in homes and the guy doesnt know what hes doing at all. The houses he rents out are garbage.

Stop complaining you 'low life turd'..get a job and off you're 'arse' and buy a home..geez at least the 'Haute's' most famous 'Pimp' can afford a 'Double Wide'..and I'm thinking that the 'stock' he provides has to turn alot of 'tricks' for the mortgage payments...

James and Rita Hickman. Wont fix broken windows or doors but will sure charge you for the problems when you move. My own problem though should have taken picturess before moving in. Oh and lets not forget to mention the many times they would come in while I wasn't home snooping throught my personnel belongings.
