BEWARE! EyeCare Express has a NO return policy. They have remade my glasses 3 times, each time I was not able to see correctly from them. I am not a difficult consumer. I just wanted to get what I paid over $250 for. Megan Payne, the office manager, came out to assist me. She insisted I didn't know what I was talking about when it came to me not being able to see clearly. She rose her voice and made other customers aware that there was a problem instead of handling it professionally. I inquired how many times was acceptable to remake my glasses. She said as long as it takes. To me three times was giving them a reasonable chance. I want to WARN everyone that EYECARE EXPRESS does not have refunds on their products.

I would be willing to do that had they not been 40 miles away. Each time I called to confirm they were ready. Once upon arrival they said they were NOT ready and to come back a couple hours later. When doing so they said they "chipped" them and it would be the next week. The third time they tried to convince me that I was able to see better with my new glasses rather than my old which I had in hand. I could not. They spent over 20 minutes bending the side wires and nose pieces and having me retry them. If the lenses don't work the first time you put them on no amount of bending is going to make it work. I was very patient with them. The first woman was very professional and tried to help. When I thanked her and asked for a refund she went and got Megan Payne. Ms. Payne came out with a big chip on her shoulder and began to belittle and chastise me for not accepting the eye ware. She spoke loudly drawing attention from others in the store. It was humiliating.

My wife and I both have went there the last couple years. Never had a problem with glasses or contacts. Why in the hell would anyone drive 40 miles to get glasses? The little money you saved you spent in gas driving 80 miles.

If you live in an outlying area you can easily drive 40 miles one way to Terre Haute. Most small towns are not equipped with the conveniences that Terre Haute has.

The place is a joke and that's why I quit there because of their customer service and no return policy. Fact; it cost them around 5$ to make a pair of glasses. The frames that have a designer brand on them are in fact knock offs. I'd never go there... It's shady as can be!

They have great advertising and some of the employees are very nice. I wish they would have disclosed the no return policy in advance. Possibly get better lab techs. so the job would be right the first time, or the second, or the third. Boot the office manager to the curb. When something goes wrong that many times it would have been nice to be treated like a human being. I wonder if the owner of the franchise knows of her behavior. I would certainly have liked the opportunity to discuss it with them. This woman has to be hurting his business.

Go to EyeMart. They've been making glasses for years. Everyone is nice in there except the guy who fits your glasses and hates his job.

I was certainly NOT picky I wanted to be able to look threw my glasses and be able to read something. I could not. They wanted me to tilt my head back and turn it to the right to try to make them work. Which I willing tried. I could not see to read anything in front of me no matter the distance. There was an entirely different problem with the other pairs, wrong prescription in one pair and some sort of aberration in another that pulled my right eye inwards. It's not like I kept the glasses of which I could not see from. Having to return to EYE CARE EXPRESS and being humiliated each time ended up being more than I could handle. While waiting for my turn I witnessed an elderly woman crying because her nose pieces hurt her. They had changed them and they were no better. The poor woman just gave up. I know that there are people out there that you can never make happy. I am NOT that kind of a person. I would suggest to the owner "Tim" that he take a good look at the customer service he has in his establishment. Eliminating Megan Payne as office manager would be a good first step. Quality control for the end product as well as good customer service would eliminate the need for a NO RETURN policy.

Whitney,

I'd be pissed too and completely understand your complaints. At the same time you most likely chose Eye Care Express because they are a more affordable choice.

Ever heard of that saying, "you get what you pay for"? This is one of those times.

Sincerely,
Jimmy Chews
