Its not "fake news" when its on the SBOA documents. Duke you need to stop hiding behind your fake name (Duke defender), stop worrying about perfecting your chicken dance and start answering the hard questions. The people of Terre Haute aren't as stupid as you want us all to be.

Having been elected three times, Mayor Duke doesn't need lectures on the intelligence of Terre Haute voters.

Yes, his plan is to continue operating the city in the red and depending on the firemen to keep him in office. This town has gone downhill since he became mayor. Streets are dirty, trashy, and when is the last time you saw a street sweeper. I cannot believe the decline of Terre Haute during the past nine years. Where's the money going? Same goes for the school corp.---want taxpayers to shoulder the cost of at least three new high schools?! Something has to give. This poor community cannot pay for a new mega jail and three new high schools. Probably cannot pay for any of the "wants" of the mayor or superintendent. Jobs are available , but cannot fill them because there too many drug addicts and lazy people who don't want to get dirty or get up in the morning and show up everyday. Face it, this is a near dead community thanks to Duke and Danny.

Council president says this should be wake up call. Why wasn't the first audit like this a wake up call?

You raise a good point. It shouldn't be up to the mayor to let the council know.

Since the mayor is the person the state deals with, how is the council to know if the mayor doesn't tell them?

Go cry somewhere else Kevin. You are just pissed because the firefighters have some political power, and the ONLY reason why you hate that is because you want it all. The quote comes to mind when I think about people like you.

"Some people want to watch the world burn, so they can rule over the ashes."

Go f*ck yourself, you sawed off little prick.

Blah blah blah sounds like somebody hit a nerve. Thanks Mr Firefighter. I appreciate the public servants, but I've yet to hear a FF describe a constructive solution to the budget crisis that doesn't involve the shrinking middle class and small amount of business owners bending over and being taxed to death. "Political POWER... yes they have it (for now... keep it up please. Looking forward to privatization discussions soon). Keep sucking at the City tit... Milk's about out.

Here is the plan to obey the State budget order:
1) Cut firefighter headcount by 1/3.
2) Install porn-blocking IMSI jammers in all firehouses.
3) Response times and ISO ratings will still improve with fewer firefighters,'cause firehouse porn is jammed.
4) The porn-blocking IMSI jammers will be provided free of charge by Burke Springs, St. Mary of the Woods, and the Chamber of Commerce.

When they talk about the city in debt, they NEVER talk about cutting spending. They always want to raise taxes and when that's prohibited by law, they want to invent a new tax to continue with their free spending ways. Why does every department person need a take home car?? Is there seriously a park emergency that requires a take home car?
With the way the city is being ran, you know the "geeb" thing isn't limited to the school corporation. Family and friends of that same group keep getting richer why the city is being driven into the poor house.
If we had smarter voters, we would get rid of the whole damn bunch but so many of you vote purely on name recognition which puts the same crooks in charge of the money. Look at the school board!! Until we hold them all accountable, we're going to keep the same thieves in office.

Yup. Privatization of the ambulance service sounds great. Get ready to pay out the ass for a 5 min ride as well as extended wait times. You get what you pay for. Not only that, only the young firefighters who make less money will be the ones losing a job. All the "fat, lazy, overpaid" ones will keep their job. What a great solution.
