Anyone dislike WTWO and their news shows but me? Lets start with the "Sports Director"....Many of his "reports" at 6PM are previously recorded, plus why does he rarely wear a necktie while every other male TV male desk anchor person in the local market does? Sorry, but Jason is not the only thing wrong down there, but I thought I would start with him since I am a sports nut. There are a bunch of things that need updating and/or changing, but I thought I would start with that. If anyone wishes to continue this line of thought, I will add more opinions!

FYI: I have lived here for 30+ years and when I travel and watch other newscasts, its very obvious that NEXTSTAR needs to spend some bucks to upgrade the entire operation!

Ah, so you're one of their 9 viewers.:)

Seriously, so few people watch them I doubt you'll be able to stir up much legitimate conversation. They get clobbered in the ratings and have to practically give away their advertising, which few people see.

I like their news cast the best... The necktie thing, not a big issue with me.

Fresh "NEW" stories, Better reporters, top notch weatherman in Jesse Walker, More local sports/highlights/scores, and more appearances at local events, that's why I like watching News Channel 2 and their broadcast.

INSTEAD OF... the same old "stories" that were on at 6pm (will be on again at 10 or 11), reporters who cannot pronounce names correctly, a weather team that "scares you" or makes every rain episode a "dramatic event" and takes an hour of broadcast to show you the same radar with (what, rain!!!) when it's storming outside (oh, my!). Sports 10 is getting better now that they took one of Channel 2's sports reporters over there. As far as local appearances, haven't seen 10 at more events than 2.

Yea, I will take Channel 2 anytime. And don't give me the same crap that 10 is clobbering 2 in ratings. In fact, I see Channel 2 improving and moving up in the ratings. They don't act phony or "push it down our throats" every time either! Just more of a professional station .. 2 all the way baby!!

Yeah, anyone who thinks 2 over takes 10 in anything is kidding themselves.

Their ratings are in the ditch.

When i watch them i feel like i am watching a bad college station.

As for them being "classy," has anyone else caught their "We are the only station in the Valley to be nominated..." posts on Facebook? Yeah, real classy.I had to unlike their page because i was sick of it. It's like the kid that gets an A on a test..and can't stop talking about it...

Wow, sounds just like a station promo. I'd love to see copies of the ratings book that show the trending you speak of. Please copy and past some of that info here for all to see. And be sure to highlight the key demographics that advertisers are actually interested in buying.

Sorry...but they really do need some guidance in the Sports Department....tonight's "sports report" consisted of only one story, the really cool and touching story about Dan Wheldon and his wife getting their tatoos the night before his fatal wreck. Well, this was the only story on tonight's "sports report" and turns out I had seen it 3 times already on other NBC news venues; I think I first saw the story yesterday morning!

Seems like their only 100% efforts are for the high school games on Fridays. Well this is to be commended, but unfortunately for WTWO, sports news is a 7 days a week happening. Oh, by the way, last night was Game 1 of the World Series.....BUT NOT A SINGLE MENTION OF THAT!

I am sure there are all kinds of stories that could have been picked up and shown about the World Series (that has a bunch of local interest) but no---lets show something that has been on NBC many times already!

Sydney Benter is better than Patrece Dayton.
Patrick Fazio is better than Mark Allen.
Jesse Walker is WAY better than David Wire.

Just because more idiots lap up the drama that WTHI dishes up does not mean they are better.

Most people I know watch WTWO.

That's sad. We have two news programs in this city, one conducts its broadcast professionally with a professional appearance and the other one portrays our city as a glorified farm town filled with hicks and elderly too poor to move to Florida and the hick broadcast is #1. And people wonder why people make Hautian intelligence jokes.

Agree--talent level and WTWO's willingness to aggressively seek new talent are impressive.

The new morning weather gal is also great. Poor Dana needs to go, however, although she is more watchable than Abbi " Tourette's" Walton

Wow, it's clear you know absolutely nothing about the broadcast news industry.

WTWO is barely a blip on the proverbial radar screen.

Seriously, you should get a hold of a few of the more recent ratings books and maybe even some independent market research and you'll quickly understand how your opinions are worlds apart from reality.

"Agressively seek new talent?" Do you mean, quickly hire someone because their predecessor couldn't afford making 18k a year. WTWO and WTHI are first jobs for those in the business, and if they have an ounce of talent, they will be gone in months.
The only reason 10's people stick around is because they are forced to sign contracts to stay a certain period of time.
WTHI is over dramatic, WTWO is just plain crap. I mean check out there website if you have time, I've seen better spelling and paragraph contruction from elementary students.

Does it really matter which TV station anyone prefers. It's rather like you wearing a red sweatshirt and I choose to wear a green sweatshirt. I don't have to like your choice and I have the right to like mine better. The same applies to you.
Yes, some of WTHI's on air personalities are annoying. They exhibit immature mannerisms or distracting behaviors, they are young and unfamiliar with the Terre Haute area and it's history. It shows and WTHI doesn't seem to encourage their reporters to enlarge their knowledge of the area. At sometime during their education or work experience someone should have said "Don't do that" or "Try it this way". It would have helped that broadcasting newcomer a great deal. Noticeably, the reporters do not do much in-depth research on the stories they present on air. WTWO does seem to have chosen newscastors who have more refined and polished personas, but they often seem a little too laid back and dry. We watch both stations since neither covers all the news events of the day. It's good we have a small variety to suit our tastes and it's shame there aren't more stations in this area.
