Has anyone been to The Bridge Church. If so, do you have an opinion? Is it a young person's church? Should I bring my handgun?

I have been going for several weeks now, it is an awesome church. It can be considered a young church, it is definitely not an old person church. And no you do not need a handgun...lol...it is a very relaxed and carefree church!
Not like other judgemental and rule driven churches.

Wow! Kind of critical of other Christians? I mean that is judgmental itself. I don't care, but it's like the pot calling the kettle black.

Ummm - you are absolutely correct, I was being judgmental, thank you for pointing that out. I have been hurt pretty bad by my last church and I guess I still hold a grudge, I will work on that. I definitely should not air my grievances to others. Because of that hurt, I stopped going to church for a while because I was afraid of that happening again, but the Bridge is different. A lot of love and acceptance, yet it spurs people to grow in their faith.

And thank you Hedy, you statement is exactly what the Bridge believes!

Bob - the church is at 19th and 8th Ave. The Bridge preaches Jesus as the Messiah and the God of the Bible.

Totally understand your point. My mom attended the "same" church for eons and then one day a new preacher comes in and tells her that if she cannot tythe x amount of dollars toward the church each week she, in a sense, could find another church to attend!! My mother was devastated ... She never returned to that church.
She never said anything about it to anyone but I knew that it hurt her deeply....

The church my Mother attended in TH forgot about her when she could no longer attend because of health reasons, when she died some of them came, and also left the service with a few of the flower arrangments as well....takes alllll kinds!

How do you justify that? I mean from a scriptural point of view? I mean, I know the answer, you won't be able to do so. Also, just a thought, the Body of Christ is not a local body, a building or a denomination, it's made of Christians like yourself. So, as one Body you are calling a part of the something and dogging another part of the Body of Christ to which you belong? Odd? And hypocritical. Obviously you are a novice, young in your faith or just someone without real roots in your faith because the Body is made up of people who are not perfect, nor will they until we are changed. The church you are exalting will indeed hurt you, irritate, fall short of your expectations like any other church will. The plank has to be removed first from your own eye before you can remove the speck from your brother's eye (Paraphrasing, I'm sure you get it). I don't give a flip about where you go to church, I think it's wonderful that you go somewhere to worship as you should as Christian. That is Biblical. But to dog the Church in general or even specifically or any local body as well is dangerous. Jesus died for them as well. By your own admission you are way off the mark. I don't agree with certain denominations practices but I'm not going to dog them. I have friends that I have recommended another church than my own that will jive better with them as a family and their style rather than my church. This is not a competition this is about pastoring a community. My point is that any church local or nationally that promotes itself over other churches as the correct way or the only way should be a red flag to anyone. Does Pastor Billy know you are promoting the church he pastors in this way? If so, then too bad. But I would be curious if a man of God would be proud of any of his sheep bashing another part of the Body of Christ? I hope you enjoy the church but heal up. Watch what you spew because the wind will change and it comes back on the face of the one who spewed.

Whats wrong with being spiritual without being religious?
Religion was made by men to police what they belive to be the word of God, spirituality is what you feel inside to be true, and just.
The Lord gave us all a conscience, and the ability to know right from wrong.
This is what I believe to be true, testify to others what the Lord has done for you, and follow the Golden Rule, he dont expect us to be perfect.

ummm....I am not exactly sure why you are dogging me again, I said it was a flaw in me and that I need to work on it. Your rant is preaching and condescending (and exactly the kind of people I wish to avoid). Do you talk that way to people who are young in the faith or that have a shaky foundation? If so, then shame on you. You may have a lot of biblical knowledge, but your actions are not very Christ-like. Pastor Billy, knows exactly how I feel, oh and BTW, he never said, and never would, the stuff you did. I am human too, and have my flaws, but when I say thanks for pointing out a flaw of mine and will work on it, don't continue to judge either.

Try a nondenominational church. They might not be so critical.
Catholics don't seem to be as verbally critical, your choices are left up to you.
