why stay away? what does he do? go out and try to save souls? give me info please. i have been to this chuch, the preacher seems friendly, i hear he is aggressive, but is it wrong for a preacher to be aggressive in trying to get people to come to his church? if you know something bad, please share.

How does that have ANYTHING to do with the church itself?

Heard he once paid a hotel to use the swimming pool privately because he didnt want other paid hotel customers to stare at his wife in her bathing suit

most all of these comments are based on gossip and hearsay. The pastor of Good Shephered is second to none and loves God with all his heart. Instead of posting critical info about a good man, maybe you aught to get your facts straight!

I agree. I have been to Good Shepherd and this church is fantastic! The Pastor is awesome, his family is nice and boy can his youngest daughter sing! The people are extremely friendly, they have the best pianist in town and his wife has a tremdous voice and musical ability. This church gets an A+. Truly awesome!!!!

he is aggressive in trying to get people to come to his church, and worship God. is that wrong for a pastor to do? i have spoken to him, he seems like a good man and christian. i have visited his church as well, very friendly folks, and he is a good preacher as well. i also give the church an A.

They don't practice what they call "mixed bathing". Meaning men and women who aren't married or related can't swim together in the same body of water. That's probably why he rented the pool.

Reverend Manbeck: a person who uses people's faith in God to further his financial gain. A true man of God would open the churches books to show where the money donated to the church is being spent. Manbeck is just one more example of a person utilizing religion to manipulate and scam people out of hard earned money. Good luck to the members of Good Shepherd.

this church puts out a financial report every year. it tells you where the money is going. they aslo have a board of directors that says buy this pay that ect. he his not holding a gun to anyones head and say i need this much money. pastor manbeck
is a good person. there is not a church in terre hute you cannot find fault. and if you do not like how he preaches.no one is forcing anyone to walk through the doors of the good shepherd church. and the church votes on who there preacher is. if they don't like him they can vote him out. so go after the board not pastor menbeck.

WHOEVER THE JERK IS THAT MAKES UNFOUNDED CRITICAL COMMENTS ABOUT THE BOOKS OF THE CHURCH NOT BEING OPEN NEEDS TO GET A NEW BRAIN. ANY MEMBER OF THE CHURCH CAN GO INTO THE OFFICE AND LOOK AT THE BOOKS. PASTOR MANBECK HAS A CPA DO ALL FINANCIAL REPORTS AND THEY ARE POSTED REGULARLY. I KNOW AND HAVE SEEN THEM MYSELF. WHOEVER THESE PEOPLE ARE THAT POSTING LIES ABOUT A GREAT PASTOR WILL ANSWER TO GOD FOR IT. THE PASTOR AND CHURCH ARE AWESOME!

I agree. Pastor Manbeck and Good Shepherd are, awesome. God is blessing that man because he preaches the truth and wins precious souls to Christ. The people who are saying bad things about the Pastor obviousley are not good christians because the bible says the spreading lies, gossip and criticism which they cannot prove is a sin. I have attended the church and heartily recommend it! These people who spread viscious lies are not good christians.

Just to set the record straight. The Pastor is a true man of God and is honest, hard working and has an incredible knowledge of the bible. The church is sound doctrinally and has good leaders and wonderful childrens programs. The pastor does not get paid 100,000, probably around half that figure but would deserve it because he outworks every other pastor in this town. Go to the church, listen to him preach and you will not hear a better sermon in town.
