If the location of the church is confusing, the entrance is on Lafayette across from McDonalds. Cross Creek Church I think is the name. If yo drive by the ballpark you don;t really see it. Thanks for mentioning this.

Terre Town is a lot better than North LL. We have more diamonds and the coaches are better!

The coaches are better.. My son plays at terre town but played football for 2nd grade north team. The same coaches also do baseball for north little league. The north coaches seem to already have their hand pick players and did not want to give the other kids a chance.. It was kinda of sad what I saw from them.. I help out a bit and I even heard one of the coaches say "i have to make sure my boy gets to run the ball so i dnt hav to hearhim when i get home." i mean if thats what you want from your coaches than go ahead but i feel like kids get more of a fair shot from Terre Terre Town

I agree with you "parent". I have heard the same thing. It's a shame that it works like that up North. It's great to be at Terre Town. Our kids "get a chance".

How can that be, they're both on the north-side of town. Nuff said!

Terre Town is great for any kid who just wants to play ball.

You are right "Phil". They have coaches who "work" and practice with the kids. You don't just get a game schedule and have games throughout the season. They actually schedule practices during the season as well and show the kids fundamentals of baseball. The coaches don't argue about "every call" with the umpires and it is just an overall positive experience. I am so glad that my child has the opportunity to play for an organization like Terre Town.

Thanks for the positive comment, TTParent. I've been one of those coaches the past few years. Kind of nice someone thinks we are doing it right.

Coaching is better? More fields? I'm not going to bash any parent for coaching but in my expirence with "TT" not all but 99% of the coaches don't know jack when it comes to teaching these young kids the game of baseball. Why do all the kids with any talent come to NLL? ask their parents. The baseball fields at TT are goat ranches and are unkept. Where does all the fundraiser money go? Ask your board of directors, bet they feed you a line. North little league had fall ball for the first time last year and it was a huge success. 14 teams or more in the coach pitch div., I think 8 in the minor div. and 8 in the major div. My kid played fall ball at TT in years past and it was never like the expirence at NLL. How did fall ball go at TT? don't answer that, I already know. To each their own I guess. As long as our boys and girls have a place to play baseball it shouldn't matter where your preference is. As far as football goes, MAYBE YOU SHOULD MAKE AN EFFORT TO VOLUNTEER. oh and to address the comment about the arguing calls from umpires, why is it that your umpires have approached some of the coaches at NLL and said they would rather do games at our park over TT because the kids don't have that cocky ass attitude and the parents don't act like fools? The only coach at your ball park that I would trust to coach my children is Jeff Marks, and I think he has the most respect for BOTH parks. Maybe you should let the kids be kids and play to have fun.

How many of the coaches there do you know? There are a few, yes, that fit your description. But you just attacked a whole lot of people. I think you insulted me and you don't even know me. The comment you replied to was asinine, obviously, but there are good folks at both places. Terre Town's problem is that have made a few mistakes in who they allowed to coach, giving us all a black eye.

As far as the facility, yeah, you are right on that one.

I didn't say all coaches are bad! You must have felt like that was a personal attack which is your problem I guess. If you are a coach then good luck this summer. That was not sarcasm.

I realize that there are both good and bad at both places and I'm not gonna get into a childish argument on a forum. I know a board member from a few years back and there IS some shady shit going on with that ball park and president with the money. As a parent and coach I would be concerned with both of the issues of how horrible those fields are and why aren't they spending the money to fix them? Its truly a safety hazard for those children. If you believe you are benefiting those boys and girls with your knowledge of the game then my comments about such shouldn't bother you in the least.

The biggest problem with youth sports, the parents living vicariously through their children. Kids just want to play and have fun, then you throw in the maniacal parents that abuse an umpire because they think their little baller was wronged and that is where it breaks down. My son played T-ball through High School and I witnessed the same ignorance at every level. Who cares what league is "best" , kids would play in an open field with bare dirt spots for bases, it is the "adults" that cause so much drama.

Guess it was the 99% thing.
Don't think the condition of the field or the scruples of some board members are not concerns. They are. The same allegations were made at NLL about a past prez a few years ago. Not sure I bought them, but the guy who told me later serves on the board. I think it's just something that goes on in organizations like that. Believe me TT has some serious issues to deal with and it isn't going the same direction as NLL. I just think it is ridiculous to slam "99%" of the coaches. Some are as you say they are, but many are not.
