Care Ambulance has secured their position in Terre Haute with a huge fleet of top of the line, clean and professional vehicles. There are several different styles of emergency and non-emergency styles now in our area. It has become a welcome site for Union and Reginal hospitals as well as area nursing and assisted living homes. Go to http://interlockindustries.com/ for a review of this family owned business. Care is a portion of what the Mackin family provides. Look through the menu tabs. They were ranked 21st on the top 100 business's in Indiana. They give scholarships to their employees and families. They have donated millions to the communities they precide in. They are clearly the leading ambualnce provider in the Indiana area. Their growth is phenominal. When the new contract for the county is up and awarded to Care they will continue to support local jobs by filling them with current employees of the current contract holder. No need to worry. Care they will interview quality applicants and if they meet the high standards then they will be considered for the new positions. It's nice to see a company with the financial depth to maintain our emergency transportation needs. Industry standards for dispatch and vehicle maintence is their specialty. Thank your County Council for their choice to use Care.

What happens to the people who had contracts with Transcare. Does that money just go up in smoke and the citizen loses the promised services?

Most contracts are honored until expiration. Some renewable and some not. I'm sure Care would assume some or most. I looked at the website and it is quite an impressive company. I'm sure it takes a considerable amount of money to sustain an emergency type of service like this. They appear to have it together. All tax payers need to know what their money goes to.
By the way, it's not the County Counsel that handles these decisions though I'm sure they have input. Please encourage your County Commissioners.

That it all true. Care is awesome!! I suck in concert and when I really suck I hope Care is there to revive me and my gay performances. Who drives around listening to me on the loud speaker anyway? Gays?

Yes Care seems to be everywhere in TH these days. I see other ambulances too. I looked into that website. I'm impressed and feel very good that they can handle the service. Why can't anyone bid on it? If so how many ambulances do you have to have. Can a guy make money having only 1 or 2?

Its a bit more complicated than that. It's driven by a corporate mindset. Having 1 or 2 ambulances might work in a small rural town. TH is too big. Care is so big it can come in and swallow up small company's like Trans Care as well as the small 1 or 2 ambulance types. Just look close at their website and make your own decision on who you want as your provider. If you or your loved one was dieing who do you want taking you? Care has my vote. Let your Commissioners know.

I have worked Fire and EMS for years. Trust me, anyone who knows anything about EMS knows the out of town Kentucky group just wouldnt work. They change managers like I change socks. Trans-Care like any company has issues but does a great job overall and should stay as our local service. As a matter of fact, I know they have been requested in other parts of the state because the other services including Care was failing. Hospitals endorsed them Including IU Health I think the largest in the state. Also, there are a lot of private ambulance companies but very very few could handle managing 911. Many are just transfer services like CARE. Actually, CARE hasnt ever managed a 911 contract that I am aware of so that speaks for itself. JOB WELL DONE VIGO CTY FIRE & EMS

Mr. Ferrel, PLEASE!! You're so desperate to save what you have left you will do or say anything. Interlock did $600 million last year. They have 20 times or more the ambulances and replace 25 of them each year with new ones to stay on top of the game. TC can't compete. You couldn't hold Mackin's jock strap!! Make true statements if you can. How would a multi-state and county company their size do less than a small timer like you?? Your stuff is junk. Get real, get out of town.

another Firefighter/EMT here and ive seen what tcare does on motor vehicle accidents and every once in a while i get scared to death-no pun intended. however i would much rather have them coming than a service that is dealing 95%(guestimation) with transfers. care does NOT have the capability to handle a emergency contract and that isnt just a matter of my opinion. i have about a dozen friends that did or do work there and if they dont hate that place they have more bad to say than good. from what their employees say, "it has nothing to do with patient care, just making that extra buck". doesnt sound like theyre keeping with there slogan of caring. i wont say who that quote is from bc i dont want them to lose their job. basically tcare keep doin good and try to improve a little and keep the vigo county contract!

TC can't improve any. They are out of cash and can't compete with a multi-million dollar company like Care. You obviously did'nt look into the website offered in the first reply. I worked there too. Management is poor. You can't fix stupid with money.

I'm waiting for AMR to come in and wipe the floor with everybody. No one can compete when AMR comes to town. They're known to buy out contacts at extremely inflated prices and take over everything.

Never heard of them? I know Care was making TC sweat when I was with them. I see Care all over so TC has to be hurting. Too bad huh?

I think you are full of it. You said you "think" they are but yet you worked for them?? 5 years would dictate knowing who and what they are. Your on every topic on here??? You never worked for them.

Okay, if you say so.

By the way, I worked in the streets for 5 years, not in the corporate office, not in the board room, accounting department or in sales, on the street. I only know what me and my coworkers discussed. I'm pretty sure they are the largest.

I also did not offer my previous post with 100% certainty because I didn't feel like researching to see if they were still #1. It's been 7 years since I worked there, things could have changed.

And you can £uck off.........I was just contributing to the thread.

What does the volume of my posts have to do with accuracy? Stupid, stupid people. Think before you post. Read each word slowly and think about it.
