T-Bird Fan, I couldn't believe it when I seen Stacey Piker on the news this morning talking about living in fear for her childrens safety. What about the safety of the Union High School students..... she had NO concern for them when she commented on this very forum that maybe those students got what they deserved !!!! How would she like it if people told her that her son got what he deserved?????

How bout the way the news paints u black if u ever been arrested. I watched the news bout the Justin Compton shooting and what I got out of it plain and simple is that its ok that we shot him because he's been arrested 15 times. What the FL is that. Sounds like justifying your means to me. I'm almost scared to get pulled over. Imight get shot because I been to jail.

Justin didn't just get pulled over and executed. You should only be scared if you're a fugitive from justice and you feel like its ok to charge a cop with a deadly weapon when you finally get caught.

That assertion is rather asinine and not well thought out. Sometimes cops do kick in the wrong door and kill every innocent person inside. Cops are mistake prone just as much as anyone else believe it or not.
After all it's a thinking Americans duty to question authority.
Some news stations, like WTHI, always go out of there way to justify avoidable lethal force by police and some news stations don't.
I believe that WTHI has a contract with the PD on things like this if I'm not mistaken.

You're damn right on that one! Ever have a traffic ticket or Drunk driving then you may as well have committed murder but if you're a police man then kill all the people that you want for fun. Don't worry, WTHI will be there to get people to see the situation the way that you want, officer.

Yep. And how often do you see the news out there trying to interview and listen to the side of the accused person?
Is a contradictory police report Gods word?
I guess the police would go on to say that you can't take anything the accused say seriously since the accused is just a criminal anyway and hence is not capable of honesty. In that case, the accused isn't accused anymore and automatically guilty of something. It's the basic police tenet that everyone is evil, criminally minded and guilty of something.

The only thing asinine is the way you cherry pick parts of a post and then try to twist it. He didn't say he deserved to be killed because he was a fugitive, nor did he make any justification for cops killing innocents. The one thing everybody seems to agree on is that Compton was a fugitive AND (see, make a note, more to the thought) he was threatening police with a knife. Not sure about you idiots but if somebody comes after me with a knife, I'll run a failure drill on them in a heartbeat.
Nobody said that he wasn't a fugitive. They already decided that he would die in prison. That's probably why he ran. But did he "really" threaten the police? Like anything with the police in Terre Haute we will never know for sure. The more the new slant the more it makes you wonder what really happened. If someone comes after you with a knife, I wouldn't blame you for defending yourself, what about a psycho cop with a gun? Or is that different?

Just unbelievable. It still amazes me that people cannot grasp a concept. Good God you people act like this is LA and criminals being shot happens every day. In fact, I bet you wouldn't notice if it did happen often and you'd change your tune if you were the one wronged.
Another thing, if you're worried about getting shot why aren't you worried because the 3 officers who were shot/shot at this past week? Wouldn't that put you at risk as well?
Do you think some whacked out goof ball has enough sense not to do you harm? Starting early in the day on the 4th of July the drunked out, drugged up and brain fried beat their women, staggered along the busy roads, put their kids in the car and drove impaired, broke into homes, stole property, fought with their neighbors, damaged property, made threats, taunted police, harassed dispatch and more than a dozen threatened suicide. And this was jus Vigo county! LEOs and dispatch never caught a break from the early morning Wednesday to early into the morning Thursday.
Does that strike you as sane?

"They" didn't decide that he would die in prison. The man was convicted of a crime and an elected judge applied the guidelines (which included looking at his criminal history)as set down by the elected legislature to give him a sentence.

Your response was asinine and not well thought out.

I'm not sure if you understand the usage of punctuation to end a sentence.

You cannot respond to half of a sentence just because it best suits your needs for retort.

Feel free to go back and read the second sentence in my post (in it's entirety) so that you might understand my statement.

As far as kicking in the door and killing every innocent person inside: Did you read the articles that you posted links to?

The police did NOT kill anyone in those stories.

I'm sure you just stopped halfway through the article and assumed there was a bloody massacre because, after all, police always execute everyone while serving a search warrant. Right?
