My internet keeps going off and on and off and on. Back and forth all the time! I'm curious.. am I the only one with this problem? I would like to know before I call them to deal with this

What do you expect from a dead technology. Why do you think Verizon spun off there wired division. They have let there lines degrade to the point of total crap.

I have had nothing but problems with Frontier. Frontier initially charged for a modem that was to be included with the contract. They debited it out of my checking account but would not credit my checking account as I requested. They wanted to credit their account. Since it was their mistake, I contacted the BBB, filed a complaint and Frontier had the $70 in my account within 24 hrs. I lost internet 5 times today and 4 times yesterday. I have had the same problem for 6 months and had to file a complaint with FCC because they failed to fix it after 3 hrs on the phone with tech support and a field tech dispatched. They dispatched another field tech and found an open line at the residential box. Worked correctly for about 3 weeks. I had several excuses given to me including the "we are upgrading our system and you are connected to a server with extreme traffic on it". Check your download speed at either Frontier's speed test website or a third party. I'm sure you are getting les mph than what you pay for. Frontier recently sent me a bill for over $100 in which they canceled my current contract (expires on 1/28), charged me a cancelation fee, charged for a residential phone line (my contract doesn't require one)and overcharged for the DSL. I had to hang up on the first representative who wanted to agrue with me instead of looking up my contract. I canceled the contract at the end of the contract terms with next representative who adjusted my bill to reflect the amount I should be charged. I would suggest speaking with Frontier then filing a complaint with the FCC and BBB. Cancel your contract and switch to Time Warner.

I tried to cancel my home phone & just keep the Frontier DSL. I was told by a Frontier rep that my monthly bill would go up & be higher just for the DSL then it had been for DSL & a home phone. She justified it by saying that Frontier was a phone company first & losing that phone hurts them. Unfortunately, other then going to a satellite internet, I'm stuck with a bill that's over $58.00 a month & slowly creaping up for 700kbps service to get internet service. Frontier has also told me because of my location I can't get anything faster from them.

I am also on the south end. A bit south of Springhill. Everyday that I come home, the modem internet light is out and I have to manual reset modem. I also didn't get my account credited for the excess charges. I will have to call them tomorrow to make a payment of $39.98, however, I am sure they will want to force me to pay $107 which includes their billing mistake. Frontier has the worst customer service I have ever experienced. I only have 1 more month left and I am moving on to another provider.

Its the law that if they advertise and SELL a certain speed you must be able to peak at that rate. Contact the FCC and keep doing so until Frontier gets it together. They were so bad I went to Hughesnet and bit the bullet.

FCC has an online form for filing complaints. It will take approximately one month for Frontier's team to receive it. Save a screen shot of third party speed tests. After I filed the complaint, my speed is usually between 1.5 and 3. Frontier did comply w the speed but didn't fix the issue with their DNS. Also, make sure you have reviewed your bill. Frontier is renewing contracts that haven't expired and charging additional.

switch to Hughesnet, never had a serious problem in the four years I've had it and the speed is great. It sometimes shuts down for a few minutes when it rains or snows real hard, but all I have to do is reset it and it's good to go. $59 a month

You also can't play real time games online, sign into some SSL based websites, and are governed by an absurd FAP, satellite is the worst internet technology and outside of those that are so far out of town they can't receive another service it should be the absolute last option. EVDO modems perform many times better than the best satellite systems.

As far as speed guarantee, as a residential customer you get no guarantee of speed, all they are telling you is your theoretical maximum, read your contract. The only way to get a speed guarantee is to purchase business class service. Only well documented cases of speed less than half of the advertised maximum will garner much attention and it may actually take much worse performance than that to get out of contracts with no termination fees. I got out of a wildblue contract by complaining to the FCC but that was for performance around 1/10 of the advertised speed.

I have the wifi with Verizon and never have a problem with it. I would have been trapped by frontier but the idiot could not get the phone line working properly. So i cancelled with them and with the wifi. It took me 3 months to get them to stop billing me. Even though I never had their service. there headquarters are in Seattle WA. When I was going to visit a friend last summer in WA. I told the guy I will be within a few hours of you on this date. I will be more then happy to come to your office, think I am a B over the phone wait till you see me in person. Wow problem fixed LOL. My friend in WA said they are the worst telephone company she has ever had to deal with it. With her husbands job with a large construction company she has been all over this Country.

That's a big horse laugh!!! When it works it's little faster but it goes out 2-3 times a day EVERY day. Call customer service and talk to someone in WYOMING & they'll send someone out in a week to ten days.

That's all good if you live near their tower, I know of only one at 13th & Voorhees. We're lucky if we can even get a signal on the cell phone south of town.

I am South East of town. South of Riley off 159, I also have their home phone connect which works off the tower also. Their is a tower around Prairieton.

Ive been told for over two weeks that my internet would be fixed within 24 hrs...... still not fixed. frontier sucks... tech told me... as long as i was on the phone with him ... my service couldnt be repaired... cause service men were on other line....

When there was a shooting on the Prairieton levee last year (Al Kiger), the reporting party who unfortunately had Verizon as their carrier, couldn't even get service to reach 911. Try getting Verizon service around the Vigo County industrial park, only if you stand in just the right spot, on one foot, tilt your head, & hold your jaw just right.

The tower in Prairieton belongs to Mobilitie Investments & I can't remember who they lease it to but it sure ain't Verizon. There is a new Verizon tower in the works just north east of Prairie Creek.
