Its time to make the terrible budget council members and mayor be responsible for all their foolish decisions we have to pay for.
Maybe then they will make wiser choices when spending our money.
The parking garages, the downtown building, the property at 13 and Hulman....
Im tired of hearing about the tax cap you got your money back with raising the property rates.
Cut the fire and police pay and benefits

That is the first place to start

Forget it dude....Nobody cares in this town! They would rather live on welfare and suck off the taxpayers.
They dont vote and the people in this town are as worthless as the city council and mayor!

I agree with both of you believe it or not. The council should have long ago cut fire and police pay instead of making those the best paying welfare handout jobs in town. And the fake hero worship of the firemen and police is at a psychotic level beyond anything that I have ever seen. Terre Haute has been over policed for quite a while now and people seem to like it. I moved to Clinton around Pat Mansards reign of terror in Terre haute. I would almost guarantee that at some point during Pat Mansard's reign something has gone amiss in regards to election fraud. She was caught, and later admitted and made restitution to the county for funds fraudulently used for her own use. The idiotic voters of Vigo County reelected her just months later despite all of this.
Clinton is not really that much better but at least they allow some competition as opposed to Terre Hautes running anyone out of town or threatening them with false legal charges and lawsuits that's not within certain lawyer or police circles of corruption. After X-mas my job transfer goes through and I can finally say good riddance to the horrible state of Indiana entirely forever.
Terre Haute needs a serious change to run out the political and police terrorism that grips the city with and iron fist and stomps on its citizens with a jackboot but people have to want it bad enough first. I'm disappointed to say that they don't at this time. Most Vigo county residents prefer living in total ignorance. You need something to wake the residents of Terre Haute up to make anti-corruption cool and trendy. It will be a hard barrier to break for most of them will fight to the death to keep their precious illusions intact despite reality.

You moved to Clinton and think it's better? That's a big belly laugh. It looks like competition but it's really just the good ole boys passing the job to a buddy. It keeps circling.
Terre Haute has a lot of undesirables who can't stay on the right side of the law. If there was less law enforcement they would swarm like cockroaches.
You are right about Mansard.

Apparently you can't read. Clinton has its corruption too but it is more of a "boss-hog" type rather than Terre Hautes evil atrocities and blatant acts of court and police terrorism against their citizens. The lesser of two evils is still really really evil though. Pat Mansard was the police candidate. They really wanted her in bad to continue their abuses in the political system. Sure, not all cops are bad but the 98% that are, are making the other 2% look bad.

Police-state candidates. Yes.Back then yeah Mansard. Another one they say that the bad cops wanted Jim Horrall and the good cops secretly wanted somebody else. Guess you have to vote a certain way or be discriminated on by the other cops for not supporting the team huh?

Horral the Horrible one cop called him in confidence.Jim Horral wanted to install cameras in Vigo residents bedrooms so that every time you bang your old lady without a permit you have to pay $5! I sh!t you not. That's probably why he didn't get in there but they tried. In the Vigo legal mafia framework they are not all in lock-step with one another believe it or not. They have many disagreements among themselves like when Jim Jenkins cheated on his wife with Kevin Orperts wife.No one got sued or jailed since they were still in the same legal mafia. It's the outsiders that they are scared of and take actions against should they try to challenge the Terre Haute corruption.

Not surprised that the city is broke when the budget goes also entirely to constant million dollar courthouse renovations and overpolicing of the city and not much else.

I theory you have a good idea but it won't happen. You wouldn't get much support sorry to say.

I too live in Clinton. I agree that it's just as bad as Terre Haute save Terre Hautes rights violations by police.

It is a good old boys club in Clinton as well. But don't fool yourself with Terre Haute being more crime infested fella. It's about average with everywhere else. But you know how those cops and politicians are they'll say anything to get more funding. If you are not careful the media will have you siding with the oppressors and hating the victims. I have never been attacked or robbed in Clinton nor Terre Haute. So the crimes not as bad as they keep trying to say at every time police funds come up as a subject. Don't be fooled.
